Fun
We took some Rotary youth Exchange Students down on a football Saturday. We went to the skull session couldn’t afford football tickets, but then took them to the Thurman. Just a fun place to go like a neighborhood Tavern with good food. They were from Japan, Argentina, and Brazil, and they loved the burgers and fries and I can’t think of a better place to show them how Americans have a good time in a tavern with good American cooking.

Best burger ever….
We stopped at the Thurman Cafe for lunch while we were passing through Columbus. It was easy to get to from I71 and wouldn’t be hard to get to from I70 either. The Thurman Cafe isn’t a big place but we didn’t feel cramped as we enjoyed a great hamburger and fries. They have a full bar but we just had coffee and water. We both had the Thurman Burger and they were amazing. The 3/4 pound burger is piled high with sliced ham, two cheeses, mushrooms and onions. It is so big it’s a real challenge to try and figure out how to eat it. I highly recommend this place as a must try if you’re in or passing through Columbus. If you can stay in business since 1942 selling hamburgers you must be doing something right and I can testify that they’ve got it figured out. Street parking in German Village can be a pain but we circled the block and found free parking on a side street 1/2 a block away. Service was very good. They were well staffed.
