Guest User: Location is great, however our room (on level 1) overlooked the back / side streets of the hotel and the noise from garbage trucks / children below screaming in their hot tub / roadworks etc., was really loud and started early in the morning and woke us up. Facilities were good - small kitchenette, newly renovated bathroom, 2 x bedrooms, nice 'lounge area' and a lovely balcony - the noise was just a real nuisance. We also had a problem with the water overflowing outside one of the bedrooms late at night, which warranted us contacting the owners to take a look. Gushing noise was right near the bedhead of the bed and we were unable to sleep. Problem was rectified quickly and owners were grateful for being advised of the problem. I've stayed here before but stayed in a 2 bedroom unit overlooking the marina and surf club - much nicer room, further up, less noise. Owners are lovely people to chat with and helpful with information / directions as well. Pool was lovely (cold), spa was lovely and warm. Didn't partake in any food at the hotel during our stay, so can't comment on that. Short of trying to cut back some of the noise from the back streets - it was a pleasant visit.

Th to Th: Excellent location. The room interior is clean, even though the exterior is not that great. The swimming pool needs continuous cleaning. Bar opens at 10am in the morning and the service is very slow, causing delays to our next destination. Due to these delays, we wanted to get take away coffee, but that was also not allowed. Bar should improve their services.

The hotel made a great first impression with a warm welcome message for all marathon participants, which was a thoughtful touch and really added to the event atmosphere. The rooms were modern, spotless, comfortable, and well-equipped with air conditioning, making it easy to relax and recover after race day. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. The location is outstanding, with the beach just a short walk away and plenty of restaurants, cafés, shops, and a Coles supermarket right on your doorstep. Everything you need is within easy reach. Overall, I had a wonderful time and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Mooloolaba

Robin: No information provided before booking about the pool and kids games room being under construction. Our room had a great view of a concrete slab that slightly resembled a pool. Whilst looking into the neighbouring resort that had a nice pool. Having two boys aged 8 and 10 and showing them photos of where we were staying only to arrive and find out we couldn’t even go for a swim in the pool was very disappointing. Paid the extra money to stay there just because they had a nice pool and games room. Receptionist was unavailable and useless. Couldn’t even provide a second key let alone a parking spot for our room. Wouldn’t stay there again.

It was such a nice gesture and honestly made us feel really welcome and appreciated. The apartment was super clean, tidy, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We really enjoyed our stay and felt very comfortable throughout. The location was also great — it was close to the beach, shopping center, and lots of lovely cafés and restaurants, which made everything very convenient. Guest User: Arrived later than 5pm and was able to check smoothly as well with instructions given. Carpark is ok but abit tight for large vehicles. Rooms are clean though bathrooms abit small and water temperature is abit hard to control. No amenities like bathroom slippers or dental kits provided which is disappointing given the expensive rate. Left a charger in room and managed to get it back few days later, amazing service! Ok last but not least the ocean view is mind blowing!

🌴 How is living in Maroochydore? 🇦🇺
I spent a few weeks living in Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast, and what surprised me most was how quickly I fell into a routine. Most mornings started with a walk along the Cotton Tree waterfront. Around sunrise, it was full of people jogging, paddleboarding, walking their dogs or simply sitting with a takeaway coffee watching the river. One thing I noticed is that life here starts early. Cafés are already busy before 7:30 AM, but by late afternoon the pace slows down. If you're expecting restaurants and shops to stay open late every night, you'll probably be surprised. I also found myself driving much more than I expected. Even though Maroochydore has plenty of supermarkets, cafés and shopping centers, the best beaches are spread along the coast, so it became normal to drive 10 to 20 minutes to places like Mooloolaba, Alexandra Headland or Coolum for a swim or dinner. Sunshine Plaza ended up being part of my weekly routine. It's much more than a shopping mall. I went there for groceries, cafés, restaurants, the cinema and even just to walk around when the weather wasn't ideal. One thing I really appreciated was how easy it was to enjoy the outdoors. Public barbecue areas are everywhere, parks are incredibly well maintained, drinking fountains are easy to find and there are long shared paths where cyclists, runners and walkers all seem to coexist without much hassle. Something that took a little getting used to was the wildlife. Seeing ibises searching for food, rainbow lorikeets making a lot of noise at sunrise and brush turkeys wandering through residential streets quickly became part of everyday life. For me, Maroochydore didn't feel like a tourist destination pretending to be a town. #australiatrip Fantastic medium sized theme park. Entry price is very reasonable, food prices in the park aren’t outrageous and the food is really good. Ride lines were super fast, despite being school holidays and all the staff were friendly and thorough with their safety checks. Most of the rides spin, which can be quite nauseating but there is plenty of great non-spinning activities too! The illusionarium is wonderful and truly mind blowing, a definite must see. The park is the perfect size to do in one day, though we ran out of time to do our round of mini golf, but that didn’t bother us.

You can't bring your own food in besides water, but there is a good variety of tasty and filling food and the toasties are about $7. Marvellous range of ice-cream flavours as well, and the single scoop in a cone is very generous. Sideshow Alley has fun carnival games. The duck-scooping one is probably easiest. Plenty of prizes to win. Friendly and patient staff. A splendid day out with the family.

My biggest takeaway from this trip to the Australia Zoo is: arrive early, or you'll definitely miss the 1:30 pm crocodile show! The Crocoseum area is very crowded, so it's best to arrive at least half an hour early to secure a good spot. The crocodile show is spectacular, and the zookeepers' explanations are excellent. Seeing the crocodiles up close is incredibly impressive; missing it would be a real shame. The kangaroo experience is also a big plus. You can walk into the kangaroo enclosure, get up close to the kangaroos, squat down to gently feed them, and take photos. They are mostly very docile. However, please follow the park rules: don't chase or try to hold them.
