🏛️ EP.7 | Petra: A Mysterious City Hidden in the Desert 🇯🇴 Could you believe that…in the middle of the arid desert, there’s an entire ancient city carved into pink sandstone cliffs! 😱 This is Petra, Jordan, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, with a history spanning over 2,000 years. 🏜️ What makes this city so amazing is that numerous buildings, tombs, and temples are carved directly into the sandstone cliffs, especially Al-Khazneh, also known as the “Temple of Treasures,” which stands almost 40 meters tall! 🔍 But even more astonishing is how the Nabataeans were able to build such a large city in the middle of such arid land, using advanced water management systems such as dams, tunnels, and aqueducts, allowing their people to thrive in this city. ⏳ As trade routes changed and natural disasters struck, Petra gradually declined in importance.
