Get ready for safari magic! In this post, I’ll share my adventure in Kasane, Botswana, exploring Chobe National Park and soaking up riverside luxury at Chobe Safari Lodges 🐘🌅 From up-close wildlife encounters to dreamy buffets, this trip had it all.
Top Spots to Visit in Chobe & Kasane:
1. Chobe National Park (Botswana, open all day)
I highly recommend booking at least one full-day game drive and one half-day game drive for the best chance to spot elephants, lions, hippos, and more (we spotted all!!). For the most seamless, educational (and fun!) experience, Afrinature Safaris is the way to go—top-notch guides and personalized service. They are also the only provider that allows us to book a half day and full day safari drive with just 2 people (others require 4)
2. Chobe Safari Lodges (Airport Road, President Ave)
The lodge grounds are stunning, with riverside decks perfect for sunset views or lazy afternoons. The rooms are comfy (We booked River Rondavel, the cheapest one, and it was more than enough)! Dining is a highlight: we got to rotate between their restaurants and had a diverse dinner experience: from riverside grilled dinners, buffets with both African and international favorites, plus an à la carte menu if you're feeling fancy. The staff here truly make you feel like royalty, both on-site and during activities. You also cannot skip their Sunset Cruise. It might feel like a repeat of the game drive. Trust me, it's really not, and worth every penny!
Practical Tips:
– Book activities early, especially in peak season! We booked our lodging 6 months ahead
– Bring binoculars and sunscreen (the African sun is real even when it feels cold).
– Most places accept cards or USD cash.
– Transfer from airport to lodge is a breeze; ask the lodge to arrange.
Don’t forget: Chobe is safari gold—plan to truly soak it in!
