Monteriggioni

Monterrigiani in central Italy is a small medieval town, Monteriggioni is located on the top of a small hill surrounded by high walls, is a very characteristic small castle.

Monterrigiani (Monteriggioni) is a medieval village wall town located on a natural hill built in 1214 – 19 years as a front line against Florence. During the conflict between Siena and Florence in the Middle Ages, the castle was strategically positioned as a fortification. It also survived multiple attacks by the bishops of Florence and Voltella, and now the castle has become a tourist attraction.
