Mu Mansion fully reflects the style and temperament of Central Plains architecture from the Ming dynasty, while also retaining the simple and rugged charm of the architecture from the Tang and Song dynasties. The layout of the mansion, with its crisscrossing channels and flowing water, also testifies to the spirit of the traditional Naxi culture. The central axis of Mu Mansion is 369 meters long, facing from west to east, 'welcoming the rising sun and thus receiving the wood energy', with the Green Dragon (Jade Dragon Mountain) on the left, the White Tiger (Tiger Mountain) on the right, the Black Tortoise (Lion Mountain) to the back, and the Turtle Mountain and Snake Mountain standing guard to the southeast.
