Renfe Spanish Large Families Fare

In Spain, Renfe provides significant fare discounts for large families: 20% for general category families and 50% for special category families. These discounts are applicable on AVE and Larga Distancia trains but do not extend to AVE International, Avant, or Cercanías routes. Single-parent families in Catalonia may also receive discounts on Rodalies services with the appropriate Generalitat certification.

Renfe Over-60s Fare

Renfe's Tarjeta Dorada offers up to 40% discounts for those aged over 60. The card costs €6 for one year, €12 for two years, and €15 for three years. You can get a 25% discount on AVE and AVE international trains. For Avant trains, discounts vary: 25% during weekdays and 40% on weekends. For disabled passengers, Renfe offers up to 40% off. By spending €6 on a Tarjeta Dorada, you can travel on AVE, Avant, and Cercanías trains for a year. The discount on Avant trains is higher on weekends. Refunds or changes to tickets depend on the ticket type and may incur a fee.

Renfe Young Persons Fare

For young people aged 14 to 25, Renfe offers up to 30% off train fares with the Más Renfe Joven Card, costing €50. Valid for a year and non-transferable, this card provides a 30% discount on AVE and AVE international trains. Additionally, get a 25% discount on Avant, Cercanías, and Rodalies trains.

Renfe Group Fare

Renfe offers group travel discounts, with an 8% discount for groups of 4 to 9 people travelling on AVE or AVE International trains. Groups of 10 to 25 people can get up to a 50% discount on AVE, AVE International, Avant, and Cercanías trains. For groups of more than 25 people, a quote can be submitted for approval. On AVE trains, the lowest-priced fare is Básico, which cannot be refunded or changed.

Elige Estándar

The Elige Estándar fare on AVE trains is a bit pricier than the Básico fare. This ticket option provides the flexibility for refunds (70% of original ticket price) and changes (one free of charge), as well as numerous additional paid services.

Elige Confort

Elige Confort costs a bit more than Elige Estándar. The notable difference is the wider seats and offer more leg room as they are XL Confort seats.

Prémium

The most expensive fare, Prémium, comes with unlimited free changes and refunds, and XL Confort Seating.
