"[Muscat Sultan's Palace] ‎قصر العلم Alam Palace is the palace in the old town of Muscat, the capital of Oman, and is one of the six palaces of Oman Sultan. The palace, which has been in history for more than 200 years, was first built by Sultan bin Ahmed, and was built in 1972 in gold and blue fronts. The palace is not open to the public and visitors can only take pictures at the door. The Sultan of Oman used the palace as a place to receive dignitaries and hold ceremonies. For example, in 2012, Sultan Qaboos Ben Said received Queen Beatrice of the Netherlands here. Address: JH8V+9V8, Muscat, Oman Transportation: Bus Line 4 to "Al Alam palace""

Highlights: Oman is a monarchy ruled by a sultan (equivalent to a king) whose office is located in Sultan's Palace. The palace is located near the Twin Castles. You cannot visit the interior of the palace, but you can take pictures outside. However, the grounds of the palace are very clean and tidy.

"Muscat's Kabbs Sultan Mosque, not far from the international airport, is the largest mosque in the country. The overall style is in line with the low-key characteristics of the country, simple but solemn, and not the same style as the Abu Dhabi Sheikh Zeid Mosque."
    Muscat

Highlights: This splendid modern Islamic building is a gift from the Sultan Qaboos to Oman to commemorate his 30th year in power. The appearance of the temple is solemn and quiet, and the interior is gorgeous. The mosque covers an area of 416,000 square meters and is made of 300,000 tons of Indian sandstone. The square main prayer hall has a side length of 74.4 meters, and the dome of the hall is 50 meters high. The appearance of the temple is mainly composed of a large dome, a main minaret and four wing minarets. The entire mosque can hold 20,000 worshippers. The main hall can hold more than 6,500 people, and the women's prayer hall can hold 750 people. The mosque is covered with a Persian carpet, the second largest in the world, measuring 70 meters by 60 meters. It took 600 women four years to complete. When visiting the mosque, long-sleeved trousers are required (jeans are not allowed), and women are required to cover their hair.

Highlights: This is a private museum entirely funded by the founder Zubeir family and displays the Omani artifacts collected by the Zubeir family. Bait Al Zubair consists of three buildings and a traditional garden, the main building was built in 1914 and was once the residence of the Zubair family. Today it has been rebuilt to suit its function as a museum, but Omani architectural elements can still be seen. Exhibits include portraits of successive sultans of the AlBusaidi dynasty, Khanjar, Omani traditional clothing for men and women, swords, rare jewellery and Omani household items. The garden on the first floor is unique. In addition to the model of the Omani village, it also restores the ancient water distribution facilities, market area, stone houses, etc. Another building, BaitDalaleel, has been lovingly renovated and embodies the true essence of Omani architecture. Here you will experience first-hand the life of Omanis more than 100 years ago. The third building, BaitAlOud, is part of the museum's 10th anniversary event, and exhibits on the ground floor include typical Muscati furniture. On the second floor there are some prints and a lot of photos about Muscat.

"The two fortresses were built by the Portuguese in the 1580s and occupy the eastern end of the seaport of Mutla. For military purposes, the Portuguese built several fortresses on geological formations and tactical positions in the ophile hills, such as Fort Jalali, Fort Minari and Fort Matra, to monitor enemy invasions. The forts are the only link between Muscat in previous years and Muscat now, and play a pivotal role in Oman's past. These forts serve as a window into important history, which helped to build and create cultures and traditions that ultimately produced the Oman we know today."

Highlights: Galari Fort and Milani Fort were both built during the Portuguese invasion period. They were the main strategic defense bases in Oman in the 15th and 16th centuries. They were built on steep rock walls and commanded a high position, both on offense and defense. Has an excellent geographical advantage. The two fortresses correspond to each other at a distance, and the momentum is extraordinary. The only way to enter Fort Gallary is through a steep staircase, so it was once used as a prison. But now it has become a museum showcasing the traditional heritage of Oman.
