Silversand resort is a safe bet when staying in Koh Samet. Ideal location on one of the most beautiful beach, silver beach, the property offer clean and nice rooms with beautiful sea or garden view. No swimming pool but acceptable since being 1 min away from the beach with a dedicated hotel area. Very good breakfast with great choice. Highly recommended property!

Avatara Resort, Koh Samed: A Family-Friendly Beach Getaway Rating: 4/5 stars Koh Samed perfectly captures that quintessential island tourist vibe, and Avatara Resort delivers a solid family-friendly beach experience right in the heart of it all. Location & Beach Access The resort's prime beachfront location is undoubtedly its strongest asset. Situated directly by a beautiful stretch of shallow, crystal-blue waters, it offers safe and perfect conditions for family sea bathing. The convenience factor is excellent – you're just a two-minute walk from the famous Sai Kaew Beach, the iconic Mermaid Monument, and the bustling Silversand Resort area. Accommodation & Ambience While the resort building itself shows its age, the refurbished rooms create a lovely ambience with beautiful lighting that transforms the older structure into something quite charming. We stayed on the third floor, which offered peaceful mountain views overlooking the national park forest rather than beach views. The setting is genuinely calm and quiet – exactly what we wanted for a family retreat. Important consideration: There's no elevator, so reaching upper floors requires quite a climb. As we joked, shuttling between the room and outside areas four times daily provides a workout in itself! This makes the resort unsuitable for elderly guests or anyone with mobility issues. Dining Experience The breakfast experience is delightful, served in a beachside restaurant where you can enjoy your meal with sand between your toes. The selection impresses with a good range of both Western and Thai options, including fresh fruits. The resort's beach restaurant serves quality food with excellent value for money – we tried multiple dishes and enjoyed them all. However, there's no room service, and the restaurant closes early (around 9:30-10 PM). When late-night cravings struck, we found the nearby 7-Eleven (just 5-6 minutes' walk) convenient for snacks. Room Amenities & Issues Room amenities are adequate though not luxurious. The shower area is well-designed with a spacious dressing area. However, we encountered an unpleasant odor from the bathroom drainage system that required some management during our stay. Activities & Surroundings For water activities like parasailing, snorkeling, and jet skiing, you'll need to walk to Sai Kaew Beach to find service providers – fortunately, we found excellent options there. Final Verdict Avatara Resort succeeds as a family-friendly destination that balances beachfront access, peaceful ambience, and reasonable pricing. While it has some limitations (no elevator, early restaurant closure, minor maintenance issues), the overall experience was enjoyable and memorable. Recommended for: Families seeking a calm beach getaway who don't mind some stairs and prefer a quieter resort atmosphere. Consider alternatives if: You need elevator access, late-night dining options, or luxury amenities.

Our Favorite Island Escape! This was our fifth stay at Vangduen Hotel, and we already can’t wait to come back! It’s the kind of place that never disappoints. In fact, the only sad part is packing up to leave. The location is perfect—tucked away on the quiet side of the island, offering so much peace and natural beauty. The clear, calm water and the soft white sand (honestly, it feels like flour!) make it the perfect spot to relax. Even though it’s peaceful, there’s still plenty to do. There’s a great selection of restaurants, a small shop for anything you might need, and a fun fire show in the evenings. The hotel itself is spotless, well-equipped, and super comfortable. The staff are amazing—so friendly and always happy to help with anything you need. It’s those little things that make each stay so special. We’d recommend this place 100%. In fact, we’ve already booked our next trip in two weeks! Vangduen Hotel really is a gem, and we feel lucky to have found it.

Great little villa right on the beach. Listen to the waves all night. Walking distance to minimart and some restaurants. Do need a bike to get around the island. Only bad thing would be the walls are a little thin so can hear some noise from villa next to you , like when they close the toilet door etc.  had a great 2 night stay

1. **Hotel Location:** The hotel is situated on a small beach, just a short distance from Diamond Beach, which is only about a 6-7 minute walk away. The 7-Eleven on the main street is also roughly a ten-minute walk. 2. **Hotel Environment & Facilities:** The setting is lovely; it operates as a resort. I stayed in a standalone bungalow, surrounded by garden paths. It's very close to the sea; you can reach the beach within two or three minutes of stepping out of your room. However, there are quite a lot of mosquitoes on the island, so remember to take precautions against them. 3. **Hotel Service:** The service was good. The front desk staff were very patient and answered all my questions. I initially booked one night through Ctrip, then extended my stay by booking another night directly at the hotel. When I repeatedly compared online and offline prices and inquired at the front desk, the staff patiently addressed all my queries. When moving luggage, staff members will deliver it from the front desk to your room. Free towels are available at the front desk, and the row of beach loungers by the hotel's beach can be used for free. Just remember to return the towels to the front desk after use. 4. **Hotel Facilities & Hygiene:** The room has a hairdryer. I didn't use their toiletries, so I don't remember if they were provided. Hygiene was my biggest complaint. There might have been dust mites on the bed, as I was itching all over and couldn't sleep for both nights I stayed. **Additional Notes:** The hotel explicitly states they do not use MSG, and their own restaurant also refrains from using it, which offers peace of mind when dining. One evening, we considered trying a restaurant located near the hotel entrance (not affiliated with the hotel). When we asked if they used MSG, the waiter replied that they could note 'no MSG' for us 😓, which immediately scared us off, and we quickly left. Oh, and the hotel restaurant has a performance around 8 PM, but you need to tip the performers after the show.

The location is excellent — right by a beautiful and peaceful beach with soft, clean white sand. It’s perfect for a relaxing walk. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, always smiling and helpful. The room was clean, modern, and nicely decorated. There were quite a lot of mosquitoes, but the hotel provided mosquito repellent mats in the room, which was a thoughtful touch. As for breakfast, the day I stayed there were quite a lot of guests, so the food ran out quickly and was not replenished in time. If the breakfast service could be improved during peak times, the overall experience would be even better.

GGuest UserI have stayed at Flamingo Villa before (In the Garden Room), but this time I decided to stay in the loft room, which apparently is called the Family Room. Flamingo Villa is somewhat strange, since the ”Hotel” is basically three rooms within the Samed Your House hotel. Our neighbors actually knocked on our door to try and check in ~ You need to call the phone number for Flamingo Villa in order to check in, as someone will come out to meet you. So, bottom line up front: Flamingo Villa is awesome, but get ready to kill a lot of mosquitos! The owners do a good job of lighting incense sticks to try and keep the them away, but there are fountains around the area and the mosquitos are no joke. I would say I killed at least 10 in our room, so it is super important to make sure you close the sliding doors behind you every time you go in and out of the room. The Family Room was awesome. The lower floor is basically a living room with a large day bed and a big TV with great speakers. The toilet room is separate from the shower. The stairs to the loft are pretty steep, but once you get up there it is really nice. There are two queen beds in the loft, and the glass wall and sliding door separate the bedroom from the main room, which is great because the bedroom has its own AC unit, and the glass keeps out the mosquitoes. The beds were comfortable, but be careful because the ceiling is very low above the beds. The view from up in the loft is very peaceful, and the owners obviously spent a lot of time decorating the place (The Christmas tree was still up while we were there). The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Sai Kaew Beach, and the pier for the ferry is only a 10 minute walk ~ but you can take a mini bus if you would like. The hotel is close to restaurants and stores, and there are two 7-11s close to the beach. We rented a motor bike the last time we were in Koh Samed, but Sai Kaew Beach seems to be the nicest on the island, so we just hung out there. I love Flamingo Villa, and I am sure I will stay there again in the future.

MMarko Lauri ArnoldBooked Deluxe Grand Executive room for 131e/night for two people for four nights. COULD NOT GET TWO KEY CARDS FOR THE ROOM, RECEPTIONIST REFUSED THE REQUEST FOR SECOND 20 cent PLASTIC KEY!?!?!? NOT NORMAL SERVICE AND NOT PRACTICAL FOR TWO PEOPLE!!! ALSO THE BUILDING HAS NO ELEVATOR!!! Had to climb to third floor with luggages as bell boy was somewhere....also the actual room is in two levels i.e.: entrance and toilet downstairs, bedroom and living room upstairs. Outside balcony shower and bath tub had no privacy as shower is visible to the courtyard. Stayed 4 nights and 2 days water and electricity interruptions. Beach bar Happy Hour doesnt work traditional way: Ordered Kamikaze and Strawberry Margarita and tacos. Drank the first Buy 1 get 1 Free and ate the tacos. Waited for the second drinks for a while but then waitress brings us bill without asking it. Happy Hour had ended and we didnt get our second drinks but got invoiced for only one THB350 cocktail and tacos, so be aware of the Grand View Happy Hour practices and dont miss the ordering window like we did. 🤭 Daily issues with the restaurant card machine, cant pay with a CC. Clean and modern room, but poor service and not practical room with two levels and stairs.

GGuest UserThe resort model has good service. The hotel's own beach is very nice, and you can also go diving. It is quiet and comfortable overall. The hotel's own meals are also good. It is 10 minutes away from the town by motorcycle. It is recommended to rent a motorcycle to stay. On weekends, you can book a speed ship to pick you up at the hotel beach and take you back to Ban Phe Pier.

TTeeks I stayed at a quiet mini resort, which was great for peace and quiet. The best part was the chocolate cabin in the woods behind it. The infinity pool was mostly quiet and the rooms were cleaned well, which was important to me as someone with OCD. Despite being on the ground level with a sea view, I didn't encounter any bugs or ants inside. The staff was decent, but not overly welcoming or friendly. Jik, who worked at the reception, was helpful and booked reservations for us at restaurants and other Samed group resorts. However, the resort was a bit far (15-minute drive) from everything else, making it quite a ride by motorbike or taxi. The distance felt longer when traveling around the island. My least favourite thing was the breakfast restaurant. The Japanese style seating, while great for lunches or dinners, became annoying after a day or two, especially during breakfast when I needed to get up several times and bruised myself getting up. The restaurant also had an ant problem, which made me feel very uneasy and ruined my enjoyment of breakfast. I wished we hadn't included breakfast at the hotel. I felt that the same hygiene methods used for the rooms should be applied to the restaurant to prevent the ant issue.

GGuest UserNot a bad hotel, I liked it, quiet and cozy. The rooms are clean, they clean well. The furniture is old, but everything you need is there: a kettle, mugs, a hair dryer, a refrigerator. The air conditioner is strong, but noisy. Breakfasts are simple, but quite tasty. 7/11 is a 10-minute walk away, the sea is 7 minutes away. The beach is long, you can walk for hours in both directions, there is shade from the pine trees. The sand is fine, pleasant, the water is quite clean, but there is plastic garbage on the beach. If you need an ideal beach, you can go to Ko Samet. Getting to the ferry is easy and inexpensive by taxi Bolt. I liked that the hotel has a swimming pool, and the Internet is excellent, it catches even near the pool, convenient for working on the computer. The location is a bit remote, you need a vehicle to get around, but you can rent a bike or a motorbike at the hotel inexpensively. I took a bike for the whole day for 100 baht. There are cute dogs and cats living at the hotel, you can play with them. The staff is friendly, they don't speak much English, but when I needed it I just used Google Translate, all the issues were resolved. Overall, a normal hotel for its money, not fashionable, but cozy, suitable for a quiet, relaxing holiday.
