Dar El Ikram Hotel

The room felt shabby, but the restaurant looked okay. The price is not cheap, similar to that of a three-star hotel, about 8,000 to 10,000. The location is opposite the Football Association. It's hard to book a room when there are meetings or something.
City Hotel Alger

I started my check-in in French and after a few sentences, the clerk looked at my passport (American) and switched to English. If his English had been amazing, I would have thought ”ok, rude, but fine' (I understand French isn't the official language) but his English was fine not great. Which just made for an awkward and jerking conversations. French would have been a lot more natural. Both clerks insisted in speaking English to me during my stay. Other reviews mention the staff being unfriendly. I found them friendly, but in a ”hey, come over and let us practice our English with you” sort of way, not in the practical or professional way that you would want in staff from a hotel. It just made coming and going uncomfortable because the desk is right next to the door. The awkwardness of the interactions with the staff was enough for me not to stay here again or recommend. Also there was no hot water 2 of 3 nights and no internet one night. That aside, the view and the balcony were amazing (I tried hard to look at images before my stay to determine if there was a true balcony or just a railing). It was small, but a true balcony and 2 people could sit there. I was on the top floor (5th/(6th American)). Honestly if there had just been self check-in my stay would have been much better.

I'm Algerian, this hotel is amazing ❤️ the location is perfect being so close to the airport (the hotel will provide the shuttle service). More importantly, the people who work there are very very professional and nice. I came so early before the check-in time and yet they allowed me to take my room. The breakfast is also so yummy and diverse. I will, of course, book here again when coming back to Algeria. Hopefully, the price will go low a bit or at least remains as it is.
Hotel Hydra
3.4/58 Reviews
I loved Hotel Hydra. The purpose of my visit was to see my granddaughter and daughter in law. The room was spacious and well appointed. Only minor points could be improved- bath plug didn’t fit, light bulb out. I didn’t report this though. I felt safe and staff were gracious and kind. If I visited Algiers again I would definitely stay there.
Samir Hotel

Hello, I would like to thank all the hotel staff for their kindness, their professionalism, their understanding, in particular the responder and the manager himself. It was stated that pets are allowed although this is not the case. Despite everything, the people in charge allowed me to keep my animal otherwise I would be on the street after more than 5 hours of driving. Thank you to Trip.com for kindly correcting the information transmitted to the hotel so that other customers do not experience unpleasant situations as could have been the case for me if the staff had not had this humanist background and understanding. Thank you again, cordially. A client who recommends this hotel for all the charm that makes it up, both professionally and for its atypical and truly beautiful style right in the center 👌🏼🙂

Afric Hotel- Casbah
3.7/533 Reviews
The hotel owner was very engaging when he welcomed me, my room had just been cleaned and I was allowed to check in almost 1 hour beforehand. It is actually a very basic room, but at least the corridor was nicely decorated. I had 2 beds, a blanket, a bathroom (very narrow for a tall person) and a shelf with a hanger holder. It was very noisy outside as you are staying right next to the Casbah, but you have almost everything nearby (shops, restaurants, sights and metro). The hygiene was okay, unfortunately the room sometimes smelled slightly musty. Apart from that, the breakfast is almost entirely sweet, so if you like it a little more savoury, there are many inexpensive options nearby. The reception was always very friendly and helpful, which can also be said of the entire staff. If you don't have too high expectations, you should be able to stay here for a few nights at a reasonable price.
