Things to do in Zhang County

The scenery is very nice, but the road is really long. I climbed the plank road for a long time and only walked halfway. I didn't reach the South Gate of Heaven! The only regret is that I didn't find the car to go up the mountain. I only heard people say that I could take a car to the top of the mountain!

Guiqing Mountain is located near Ba Ma Village, Caotan Township, 72 kilometers away from Zhang County, Gansu Province. The entire scenic area is 15 kilometers long from north to south and 2 to 5 kilometers wide from east to west. It connects 18 villages around it, so it is also known as the "Eighteen Villages of Guiqing". It is the most beautiful natural scenery in the Loess Plateau in Longzhong! There are virgin forests everywhere, and it is known as a natural botanical garden. Tourists who go to Gansu must go there to play.

Jiuzhaigou is incredibly beautiful; every snapshot is a stunning view. The service is also excellent. The road signs are clear and easy to understand, and there are tour guides on the shuttle buses who explain each attraction clearly and indicate where to get off.

Lijialong Palace (Li's Ancestral Hall) was first built in the early Tang Dynasty. It is a complex of ancient palace-style buildings from the Tang Dynasty. It is the ancestral hall where Li clan members all over the world gather to strengthen their clan relationship and worship their ancestors. It is famous both at home and abroad because of the inscription "Lijialong Palace" written by Emperor Taizong of Tang, Li Shimin.

The sightseeing bus tickets were sold out, and the cable car queue took over an hour to get up. I couldn't see the end of the queue; if I could, I wouldn't have bothered queuing in the first place. The scenery was alright; the sky was blue when I went, and the snow-capped mountains and Five-Colored Pool were beautiful.

Shapotou truly exceeded my expectations! Our guide, Xiao Zhou, explained things in a clear, concise, and engaging way, making it incredibly entertaining. He even sang Ningxia folk songs and performed traditional folk ballads. The unique landscape where the Tengger Desert meets the Yellow River is a sight rarely seen elsewhere. The desert dune buggy ride is a must-do – thrilling and exhilarating as you navigate the undulating dunes. The Yellow River zipline spans the river, with the rushing water below and the wind rushing past your ears – a truly immersive experience. Camel riding deep into the desert, watching the sunset paint the sands gold, creates an unforgettable atmosphere. There are many activities to choose from, from thrilling to relaxing, and the service is prompt and orderly. Lanzhou Danxia Geological Park is fabulous. One of the top three things I have done on this tour. I used Trip.com to get out to the park and that was very easy. Shuttle buses are necessary to get between the various vantage points. I would come for longer next time and do the zip line. I got an 8am bus from Xiaoxihu Subway Station and it leaves the Park at 12pm to return back to the city.

In winter, the Weihe River source scenic area is covered in silver, with frozen rivers and emerald green frost. The branches are covered with rime ice, resembling a world of jade. The snow-covered mountains are even more ethereal. Strolling through it, one feels a sense of tranquility and forgets words. It is a great value for money.
