Shenmu Erlang Mountain is located 1 km west of Shenmu city along the Kuye River. It is now a national 4A-level tourist attraction and a provincial-level key cultural relic protection site. The mountain features two prominent ridges in its midsection resembling camel humps, earning it the poetic name "Camel Hump Mountain" among literati. In 1518, Emperor Wuzong of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Houzhao, passed through this area during his imperial tour.Upon noticing the mountain's resemblance to his desktop pen holder, he bestowed it the name Bijia Mountain, locally known as Xishan. The mountain features sheer cliffs on both sides, lush greenery in spring and summer, and a majestic yet desolate appearance in fall and winter. The winding Kuye River at its base accentuates its grandeur, earning it the reputation as "Little Huashan Mountain in Northern Shaanxi." The attraction features numerous temples, including the Dizang Cave Grottoes, Erlang Mountain Scenic Area - Eight Immortals Cave, Haoran Pavilion Grottoes, and Erlang Mountain Scenic Area - Erlang Mountain Temple. Our Lady HallNumerous temples, including the Reversed Seat Guanyin Hall, Erlang Mountain Scenic Area - Three Religions Hall, and the Mountain God Temple, are built along the mountain slopes, each showcasing unique architectural styles. The Erlang Temple complex was built in 1443 during the Ming Dynasty, boasting nearly 600 years of history. This south-facing courtyard-style compound features a main hall, side chambers, east and west wing halls, a main gate, and bell and drum towers. The three-beam main hall with front corridor has a gable roof, adorned with traditional gongbi paintings from 1835 titled "Anecdotes of Yi Yun" on its eastern and western walls, plus 14 small landscape paintings on the rear wall. Outside the main gate stands a Ming-era brick screen wall with exquisite bas-relief carvings - a roaring tiger scene on the front and nine dragons playing in water on the reverse, all rendered with remarkable vitality. Built on a natural rocky platformOur Lady HallBuilt during the Qing Dynasty, the stone archway in front of the hall was constructed in 1628 (the first year of the Chongzhen era in the Ming Dynasty). It features stone-carved brackets under the eaves and a frieze with a relief of two dragons playing with a pearl. The front inscription reads "Bixia Temporary Palace," while the northern side is carved with "Holy Mother Yuanjun." Behind the hall lies the Ming Dynasty structure of the Erlang Mountain scenic area - the Hall of Various Deities. The Reversed-Seated Guanyin Hall was originally built during the Ming Dynasty but was later destroyed in war. It was restored in the 16th year of the Kangxi reign (1677). The Three Religions Hall in Erlang Mountain scenic area was first constructed during the Jiajing era of the Ming Dynasty (1522–1566) and rebuilt in 1935 as part of the Erlang Mountain attraction. Located midway along the mountain ridge, it forms one of the largest temple complexes on the mountain, featuring Ming-era colored murals on both eastern and western walls - the "Panoramic View of East Mountain" on the east wall and "Panoramic View of West Mountain" on the west wall. The Mountain God Temple, also dating back to the Ming Dynasty, is situated behind the ridge.Shenmu · 3.4 km from downtown

Zhenbeitai is located on the top of Hongshan Mountain in the north of Yulin City. It is about 7 kilometers away from Yulin City and about 2 kilometers away from the scenic spot Hongshi Gorge. Many tourists visit these two scenic spots on the same day. Zhenbeitai was originally an observation post of the Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty, and it was also the place where Mongolian and Han people negotiated. This is the largest existing beacon tower in the ancient Great Wall. Zhenbei Terrace, built in 1607 AD, is the witness of the border gate "Mongolian and Han family, peaceful mutual market". Immediately below Taipei, there is a small square brick city called "King Gong City". It was the place where Mongolian and Han officials received and negotiated and held tribute ceremonies. The newly built "Great Wall Museum" is also under the stage. The museum is mainly based on pictures, and there are some cultural relics on display. Visitors can pay more attention to the "Gold, Wood, Water, Fire and Earth" five-element wall tiles. Tourists can visit here before going on the stage to play, so that they can have a general understanding of the historical situation of the scenic spot and the surrounding landforms. The Zhenbeitai that tourists see today is the newly renovated Zhenbeitai, with less historical vicissitudes, but when you board the Zhenbeitai, which is about four stories high, you can still feel the relics of the beacon tower in the distance. to its majesty and the vastness of the surrounding land. Standing on the high Zhenbei Terrace, a few kilometers to the south is the ancient city of Yulin, and to the north is the legendary desert outside the Great Wall. To the east and west of Zhenbeitai is the Ming Great Wall. If the weather is clear, you can vaguely see the ruins of six beacon towers. Many tourists will visit Zhenbeitai together with the surrounding Hongshi Gorge. It is recommended to visit Hongshi Gorge first and then go to Zhenbeitai. After the tour, you can take bus No. 11 directly back to Yulin City before entering Zhenbeitai.Yulin · 5.9 km from downtown

Tongwancheng is located about 60 kilometers north of Jingbian County, Yulin City. Because the city wall is made of large sand, clay and lime, the walls are white, and the locals call it Baichengzi. And because it was built by the Southern Xiongnu "Helian Bobo" during the Eastern Jin Dynasty (founded in 413 AD), it is also known as Helian City. Most of this 1,600-year-old ancient city has been buried by yellow sand. What tourists see is only the ruins, and the public transportation to get here is not very convenient, so most of the people who can come here to play are Tourists very interested in history and frontiers. If you are also interested in historical attractions or frontier attractions, you can take the shuttle bus bound for Batu Bay in Inner Mongolia from Jingbian County, get off at Baicheng and walk for 15-20 minutes to reach the scenic spot. It should be noted that Baicheng probably did not have a shuttle bus back to the county seat in the afternoon (the bus back to the county seat in the afternoon would sometimes be cancelled), and only the next morning would there be a shuttle bus back to Jingbian County. Tongwancheng is the only relic of the capital of the Huns in history. The whole city consists of the inner city and the outer city, and the inner city is divided into the east city and the west city. All the existing ruins are the remains of rammed earth buildings. At that time, the materials for building the city were mainly three-compound soil composed of large sand, clay, lime and glutinous rice water. According to legend, the city of Tongwan was in charge of Gugan Ali, who was very brutal. If he could use an awl to penetrate the city wall by an inch, he would kill the builders. The city built with these raw materials has already stood in the Mu Us Desert in Saibei. for over a thousand years. When tourists come here, they can circle the city from the southeast corner, with a total length of about 5 kilometers. At present, the part that is higher than the ground and has not been buried by yellow sand is mostly in the southern section of the city wall. In the southern section of the city wall, if you walk from east to west, you can see the ruins of many enemy platforms. There is a high platform near these enemy platforms. This is the commanding height of the city, and it is also the Yong'an platform where "Helian Bobo" handled the state affairs. Going west from Yong'an Terrace, you can see a pier. The pier is about 30 meters high. It has become a paradise for birds. Many birds build their nests on the pier. It is said that the application for the World Cultural Heritage has already begun, and the Xiongnu Cultural Square is also planned to be built. If you like the original Tongwan City, it is recommended to visit it as soon as possible. There are no decent hotels near Tongwan City, you can stay in the homes of the surrounding villagers. The service facilities around the scenic spot are not very complete, and tourists can bring some drinking water and dry food by themselves.Jingbian County · 43.5 km from downtown

As an old city steeped in historical memories and regional culture, it is a great destination for travelers interested in historical architecture and folk customs to visit. It retains much of its Ming and Qing dynasty architectural style, with orderly streets and alleys and winding bluestone paths. Jingbian Wave Valley's promotional materials are somewhat exaggerated. Only a few spots along the entire route showcase typical Danxia landforms. The scenic area is vast, taking over three hours to complete the main loop, but there aren't many photogenic locations. It's suitable for physically fit tourists who enjoy hiking and exploring the Loess Plateau landscape; those purely looking for photos should lower their expectations.

I came across Erlang Mountain's scenery in a short video online and thought it was magnificent. It's rare to see such a thin mountain range with so many temples and ancient buildings. It truly felt like heaven on earth, so I traveled a long way to see it. Overall, it was quite good and worth the trip. The most important thing was Erlang Temple. Seeing the piercing statue of Erlang Shen, I made a wish to him, hoping it would come true.

Baiyun Mountain, located on the banks of the Yellow River in Jia County, is a famous Taoist mountain. Its terrain runs from northwest to southeast, majestically situated on the west bank of the mighty Yellow River. The mountain is covered with lush pine and cypress trees, and towering cliffs. From a distance, it appears and disappears in the mist. The Baiyun Mountain Taoist temple complex is the largest Ming Dynasty architectural complex in the entire Northwest region, with numerous temples and halls of varying sizes, creating a magnificent and imposing sight.

Huangchengtai is still under archaeological excavation and can only be viewed from a distance. The outer city, which is open to visitors, offers opportunities to interact with many enthusiastic young people from the Shimao area – a highly recommended experience! Visiting the museum first before coming here will provide a more authentic and concrete understanding of the traces of human life 4,000 years ago!

The autumn in Mahuangliang is like nature overturning the palette. The leaves all over the mountains gradually change from emerald green to golden and orange-red. The sun pours down, and the mottled light and shadow jump on the ground. Time leaves a gentle mark on this land. The autumn charm of Mahuangliang is hidden in every corner carved by time. The ancient plateau is like a solidified painting. The wind is wandering freely, the mountains are breathing slowly, and the breath of time permeates this land. The unique loess geological features have formed a variety of strange terrains after being eroded by wind and rain. They are either upright or winding, outlining a majestic and quiet charm in the autumn sun.
