Niutou Mountain National Forest Park
Niutou Mountain National Forest Park is located 60 km outside Wuyi. Known as the "Little Jiuzhaigou of Jiangnan," it features steep cliffs, streams, and emerald pools, offering some scenic charm—though it falls slightly short compared to Jiuzhaigou. Due to limited public transport, most visitors arrive by car, so crowds are never too large. From the main gate to the core scenic area is about a 5 km drive. Visitors can drive to the parking lot at the mountain base, or take one of the three daily free shuttle buses running round-trip between the main gate and the parking lot. Nearby the parking lot are a restaurant and Shanli Renjia Hotel, while the hot spring hotel near the entrance offers better amenities, including hot spring baths—ideal for an overnight stay if time allows. To the left of the parking lot is the trail leading to Wangniufeng Peak in the back mountain. If arriving in the afternoon and staying overnight, consider hiking here, soaking in the hot springs at night, and exploring the main attractions the next day: heading right to Shimen Gorge entrance, climbing Tianshi Peak, visiting Tianshi Temple, and crossing the Golden Lock Bridge. From Shimen Gorge entrance past Yuxian Lake to Qixi Bridge, the path is mostly straightforward, with clear pools and streams along the way, making for a pleasant walk. Beyond Qixi Bridge is a fork—both routes lead up to Tianshi Peak and Tianshi Temple, with one for ascending and the other descending. The left path features a thrilling cliffside boardwalk leading to the Golden Lock Bridge. Continuing past a narrow cliff passage ("One-Line Sky") brings you to the peak and Tianshi Temple. The boardwalk clings dramatically to the mountainside, offering sweeping views of the Golden Lock Bridge spanning two cliffs and the imposing Tianshi Peak—a spectacular photo spot. Though the bridge looks daunting, it's sturdy and safe to cross. The steep One-Line Sky climb is challenging, but the panoramic summit views make it worthwhile. Tianshi Temple at the top allows for blessings (possibly at an extra fee). The ascent takes about 2 hours and is tiring, but the descent is gentler, taking just over an hour back to Qixi Bridge. Restrooms are available on the mountain, but shops are scarce, so bring water and snacks. Near the park entrance, Shenniu Gorge Rafting (¥128/person, for reference) is a thrilling summer activity—3 km of fast-flowing rapids through deep gorges. Shanxiabao Village
Shanxia Bao Village was built during the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty. The entire village was built on the mountainside, surrounded by mountains and lush forests. Most of the existing ancient houses in the village are three-sided courtyards and four-sided courtyards. The buildings are generally two-story, with the ground floor for living and the upper floor for storing grain, production tools and sundries. The carved beams and columns and pebble wall foundations retain the characteristics of mountain dwellings in central Zhejiang. In the criss-crossing cobblestone alleys, ancient wells, stone mortars and century-old camphor trees form a quiet picture. The ancient Ming Dynasty bridge at the entrance of the village spans a clear stream. The Bao Clan Ancestral Hall in the center of the village preserves an exquisite stage caisson, and the gray sculptures on the eaves interpret the scenes of fishing, woodcutting, farming and reading. Guodong Ancient Ecological Village

Shouxiangu Valley
Shouxian Valley is a canyon landscape where Danxia landform gradually changes to volcanic rock landform. Wuyi Ancient City
Wuyi Ancient City is located in the center of Wuyi County, Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province, at the southern foot of Hushan Mountain and the northern bank of Shuxi River. It is an ancient Jiangnan city with a history of nearly 1,800 years. The ancient city's main thoroughfares are Hushan Shangjie, Hushan Xiajie, and Hengjie, with a relatively well-preserved street layout. Hushan Shangjie is about 327 m long and was the commercial center of the county seat in the mid-Ming Dynasty, bustling with merchants. Along the bluestone road, wooden old houses with white walls and black tiles stand in rows, with shops side by side, still retaining the traditional layout of shops in front and workshops in the back. Hengjie winds and connects to Xiaonanmen, with hall buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties, such as Chen Family Hall and Yang Family Hall, distributed along the way, featuring exquisite wood carvings and magnificent scale. There are many historical and cultural landmarks distributed within the ancient city. The Temple of Confucius was first built in the Tang Dynasty. The crescent pond and the small stone arch bridge inside Wenxing Gate complement each other, with tranquil pond water and weeping willows swaying. Wuyi Niutou Mountain is perfect for a weekend family hike to escape the summer heat! The mountains are lush and green, and the temperature is much cooler than in the city. Streams murmur, and the air is incredibly fresh. We chose to hike up and take the cable car down, a perfect pace that wasn't too tiring. The "One Line Sky" is particularly unique, and the boardwalk offers expansive mountain views with stunning vistas. The high forest coverage and lush greenery, combined with the relatively low crowds, made for a comfortable hike. The trails are well-maintained, allowing children to enjoy the natural scenery and connect with nature. Highly recommended for a short trip around the Jiangsu and Zhejiang area!

Place is my old time favourite. Any time of the year it is in my heart. Some ponds are not working, some have been drained, but constant improvements add a certain rustic charm. Recomment to visit in the middle of week with less crouds. Bloggers now have their own streaming den, or should i say tree house?

The park wasn't as big as I imagined. The bus ride was mainly to pass through a tea plantation; the main attractions are walkable. Since I went after the National Day holiday, some of the attractions were closed. There were many flowers, small bridges, and flowing water; the scenery was beautiful.

Guodong Village is located in the mountains 10 kilometers south of Wuyi County, Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province. It is surrounded by mountains and rivers and has pleasant scenery. Because the village is sandwiched between Longshan Mountain and Hushan Mountain to the east and west, "the mountains are like a wall, and the cave is deep", it is named "Guodong"; and because Baoquan and Zhangquan are combined into Longxi, which passes through the village, it is also known as "Shuangquan Ancient Village". Guodong is an ancient village with rich traditional cultural characteristics of Jiangnan, and it is also an ecological village with beautiful environment. Longshan Mountain to the east of the village has a mysterious and ancient primitive ecological forest, and a variety of thousand-year-old trees, which can be called "a wonder in Jiangnan".

Overall, it is a good attraction where you can take your time and there were very few people in the scenic area that day. The ladder inside can be climbed even by the elderly and children, but you just need to pay attention to safety.

Free admission during the Spring Festival, but you need to buy tickets for four attractions upon entering. The Gulu Express is a magic carpet ride up the mountain; the glass walkway is scenic and thrilling; the glass slide is a bit short; and the high-altitude cable car is a little scary. After using all four attractions, there's still about 30-45 minutes of walking left, which is a bit tiring. But it's really fun and beautiful.

A well-preserved village with simple folk customs and beautiful scenery, towering ancient trees over 600 years old, the tranquility and elegance of Liu Bowen's thatched cottage, the carvings of Liufeng Hall, the folk exhibitions in the ancestral hall, and the enthusiasm of Wuyi people perfectly satisfied my reverie of Jiangnan. Culture is evident between mountains and rivers.

We went late and entered at 8:30. There were few guides from the service staff for male guests. The overall environment of the hot spring was good. It would be better if the price could be raised a little and some self-service fruits could be added.
