Things to do in Wushan County

A trip to Wushan isn't complete without a cruise on the Lesser Three Gorges to witness the unique scenery of the canyons, mountains, and tranquil lakes. The weather was perfect this time, and the tour guide's explanations were clear, making it a wonderful trip.

The scenery is stunning... the facilities are excellent... but the sightseeing buses only depart when they're full... and there aren't many people during the off-season... I didn't see anyone in the cable car on the other side... I overheard other tourists complaining at the bottom of the Goddess Ladder: "There are only six people in total, how did you manage to get other people in your photos?"... and the sightseeing buses just keep waiting... it's such a waste of time.

The Three Gorges Longji Wenfeng Line is a classic route for viewing red leaves in Wushan. You can enjoy the canyons on both sides of the line (with a distant view of the Wu Gorge) and the red leaves all over the mountains. You can also pass by historical sites such as Wenfeng Temple.

三峡的三道峡谷之中，巫峡段最长，最为秀美，最符合我去之前对三峡的全部想象。当游船经过巫山长江大桥，接下来的山水让人心旷神怡。两岸青山相连，岩壁时而陡峭，时而舒缓，条条沟壑是雨水的痕迹，也时见飞瀑镶嵌其中。偶有人家在高山处，还有黑山羊在岸边丛林。在游船上看到这些，如在画中游，以前学过的古诗句也时不时的冒出来了。巫山十二峰，峰峰不一样，充分发挥你的想象，或者跟着游船上导游的提示，可以看到神女与大鹏展翅等。

Taking a small red boat from Wushan to Fengjie takes about 4 hours, significantly slower than taking the high-speed rail. It goes upstream, directly through the Qutang Gorge. The ticket price is around 40-50 yuan. If you have enough time, it's quite worthwhile to take a ride and slowly appreciate the changes on both banks.

The scenery is not as good as before the Three Gorges Dam, and the whole trip is on the boat, there is no place to get off the boat to check in or play in the water. The second floor of the boat charges 30, but in fact the first floor has a better view of the bow. I was cheated! The boat must be full when it starts, and the boat is dispatched on a regular basis. It is also a holiday. It was not made clear in advance on the Internet, and I got up early in the morning for nothing.

This nighttime sightseeing tour takes you along the banks of Wushan Mountain. The first floor offers views, the second floor has performances, and the third floor has tea and snacks. It's recommended to choose the second floor when there are fewer people, and the first and third floors when there are more people. Finally, the rock projection at the Little Three Gorges is great, and the sound and light show on Goddess Avenue is worth seeing.

On the way there, friends happily talked about the unique scenery, but the cable car was under maintenance and we couldn't go up. The service in the small city was not good and there was no notice of the maintenance. We traveled a thousand kilometers back and forth just to see the Goddess Peak up close. This is to welcome us to come again, eat paper-wrapped fish and Chongqing hot pot.

Shennv Creek, also known as "Beauty Creek" by locals, is 15 kilometers long. Due to the rapid flow of water and the narrow and shallow path of the creek, 10 kilometers of it is a primitive valley rarely visited by humans. Shennv Creek is a newly developed tourist attraction along with the construction of the Three Gorges Project. After the third phase of water storage, the lake flows back, the water becomes flat, and the water level rises, allowing people to explore the depths of the canyon in the creek.

The scenery here is beautiful and worth seeing. You can enjoy the magnificent view of the Qutang Gorge from the high vantage point. Standing on the viewing platform, you can see Baidi City in the distance. The suspension bridge across the river is also very beautiful. The scenic area service is excellent, the sightseeing bus service is convenient and efficient, there is free parking along the way, and they also provide pick-up and drop-off services along the route.
