Izu Peninsula

Izu Peninsula is a peninsula formed by volcanic activity. Two of the world's rare volcanic arcs converge here, creating a diverse landscape interwoven with hot springs, volcanic rock coasts, and mountain valleys. The peninsula is surrounded by the sea on three sides, offering a rich variety of scenery, from rugged coastlines to the dense forests and deep valleys of the Amagi Mountains. Hot springs are Izu's signature attraction. Shuzenji Onsen is said to have been established over 1,000 years ago and is a historic hot spring town on the peninsula. The hot spring street is built along the Katsura River, featuring the serene and deep Bamboo Forest Path, with Tokko-no-yu resting quietly in between. Atami and Ito on the east coast offer a different vacation atmosphere, where hotels stand by the sea, allowing you to enjoy ocean views while soaking in the hot springs. Traces of volcanic activity can be found all over the peninsula. Jogasaki Coast is a volcanic rock coast formed after lava from the eruption of Mt. Omuro approx. 4,000 years ago flowed into the sea, cooled, and was eroded by waves over many years. It spans approx. 9 km, and the Kadowaki Suspension Bridge hangs over the cliffs. Mt. Omuro itself is a perfectly round volcanic cone, and you can see a panoramic view of Izu from the summit. Dogashima on the west coast is famous for its sea caves; when you take a boat into Tensodo Cave, light pours down from the gap in the ceiling onto the water, creating a blue glow. Seafood is also a major feature of Izu. Being surrounded by the sea on three sides makes the local seafood exceptionally fresh. Splendid alfonsino is a representative local fish species, commonly found in hot spring hotels and coastal restaurants.Japan · Izu City

TeamLab Planets TOKYO

TeamLab Planets TOKYO is an immersive digital art attraction created by art collective teamLab where visitors "step into water." Here, you take off your shoes, roll up your pants, and walk barefoot through water, strolling among flowers and light. The artworks are generated in real-time by algorithms and continuously transform in response to your movements and those around you, subtly blurring the boundaries between people, artworks, and others. This venue once set the Guinness World Record for annual attendance by a single art group's attraction and has twice been awarded "Asia's leading tourist attraction" at the World Travel Awards. Water-themed spaces are the signature here. "The infinite water surface depicted by dancing koi and people" allows you to step into water approx. knee-deep, where countless koi swim across the endlessly extending surface, transforming into scattered flowers upon contact and blooming flora that changes with the seasons. In the "Boundless crystal universe," strings of light sculptures stretch infinitely in all directions, letting you use your phone to cast stars into the space and personally shape this sea of stars. The garden area's "Floating garden" fills the entire space with soil-free orchids growing in midair, where flowers rise as you walk and their fragrance subtly shifts with the time of day. The "Sports forest" zone transforms the art museum into a three-dimensional playground: leap on glowing bouncing balls, climb colorful poles suspended in midair, step on balance stones that change with your movements, and explore the world with your body. The "Capture and collect forest" lets you use a mobile app to capture various extinct animals and compile your own illustrated guide. The "Co-create! Future garden" invites everyone to paint together, with finished airplanes and butterflies flying into the world in 3D—especially great for family-friendly fun. Experience tips: Barefoot is required in water and garden areas. We recommend wearing pants or shorts with roll-up hems for convenience. Some areas have mirrored floors where pants are more practical than skirts. For 3D exploration areas like the sports forest, wear shoes suitable for activity. △Carp swim across the boundless water surface. When they collide with people, they scatter and flee into the flowers. △A series of light sculptures extend infinitely. △In this space, a world full of life is unfolding, with flowers blooming all year round, constantly changing and evolving over time.Japan · Tokyo

Lake Kawaguchi is rich in nature and the scenery varies throughout the year. Cherry blossoms in spring, lavender in summer, red leaves in autumn, and snowy scenery in winter. Regardless of the season, the scenery of Mt. It is famous as a shooting spot for Mount Fuji. In Sanyazaki, where the reflection of Mount Fuji can be photographed, when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, Lake Kawaguchi and Mount Fuji can be photographed with the cherry blossoms as the foreground. Chanyazaki is a small cape that protrudes toward Lake Kawaguchi, and on its protruding part stands a small shrine dedicated to the worship of Fuji's deity, "Kinohanakai Yahime". There are about 501 maple trees on the lakeside, and the autumn leaves make up a unique attraction headed by the red leaf corridor. The lakeside decorated with red and yellow makes Kawaguchiko even more charming. The lake water and the red leaves form a beautiful scenery. From the mountains to the lakeside, the charming red maples are closely connected, making it dizzying. Take the Kawaguchiko cruise boat "ensoleile" (from French, meaning the sun) and circle the lake for about 20 minutes. When the weather is clear, you can see Mount Fuji reflected on the lake surface from the boat, which is the famous "reverse Fuji" landscape. Take a ride on an elegant cruise ship and overlook the stunning scenery.Japan · Fujikawaguchiko

I really like the scenery, quietness and hot springs of the Izu Peninsula, and of course the restaurants with pure Japanese menus. Although it is a bit embarrassing, it is super exciting; I look forward to visiting in three weeks.

Booking my ticket for the Tokyo National Museum on Trip.com was fast and easy. I received the e-ticket immediately on my phone, which let me skip the long ticket counter line at the entrance. Scanning the QR code at the gate took only a few seconds. As a solo visitor, exploring the museum was completely stress-free. The location inside Ueno Park is very easy to reach from Ueno Station. Inside the galleries, the signs and maps are clearly marked in English. There are also convenient coin lockers near the entrance to store your bags, making walking around comfortable.

Lake Kawaguchi is a must-see when visiting, especially for those few days. I saw Mount Fuji from various angles every day. Photos of Mount Fuji are best taken on a clear day; otherwise, you might not be able to get a good shot.

Went there to see the night view and The Apothecary Diaries exhibition. The overall experience was great, I list how the dancing scene with stars in the sky blends in with the local city view seamlessly. Only thing is the area is pretty complex in terms of finding the right place to go, but for locals it should be a big deal. The overall price is pretty high, but I enjoy the view and exhibition.
