Cathedral of Brasília
Cathedral of Brasília was designed by master architect Oscar Niemeyer and is almost the opposite of what people typically imagine when they think of churches in Europe. It lacks towering spires and heavy walls. The main structure is entirely underground, with only the crown-like dome, the egg-shaped baptistery roof, and a bell tower visible above ground. The 16 curved concrete columns converge upward to support the glass dome, resembling both a pair of hands reaching toward the sky and, from a distance, a crown. A very peculiar church. The cathedral has a very magical exterior design, which looks like a huge crown. It is also a landmark building in Bavaria and a good place worth visiting.
