Shangqing Stream

Taining Ancient Town
Taining Ancient Town is located in Taining County, in the northwest of Fujian and on the southeast side of the middle section of the Wuyishan mountain range. It is a thousand-year-old town that is still inhabited today, formerly known as "Jinchengchang." Shangshu Mansion
Taining Shangshudi, also known as "Wufutang", is the residence of Li Chunye, the Minister of War and the Prince's Grand Tutor, and the Grand Guardian of the State in the late Ming Dynasty. It was built from the first year of the Tianqi reign of the Ming Dynasty (1621) to the seventh year of the Tianqi reign (1627), and has a history of more than 400 years. Shangshudi covers an area of about 5,400 square meters and a construction area of 4,500 square meters. It is a rare official mansion-style building in the Ming Dynasty in China and has the reputation of "the first residential building in Jiangnan". Its characteristics are: large area, large corridors, large space, large corridors, large steps, large halls, and large beams; the overall building is large in scale, dignified and elegant, with a rigorous layout and excellent craftsmanship. Ganlu Temple and Yixiantian at Dajin Lake have nice scenery and don't require much physical exertion. There weren't many people during the National Day holiday, so there were no long queues, which is an advantage of less-visited attractions. However, we weren't allowed to take a boat back; we took a tour bus instead. And for safety reasons, no one was allowed to go up to the deck to see the lake view, which was a bit of a pity.

The day trip to Jiulongtan was very enjoyable; the scenery was beautiful, and the highlight was the bamboo rafting. Rafting at Yixiantian (a narrow gorge) offers a rare view, and the boatman provided commentary along the way, making for a great experience. The hour-long rafting trip was very satisfying.

I think this place is great except for the slightly inconvenient transportation. Hikers will love it. There aren't too many steps, and the forest coverage is very high. There are also unique rock formations to see. It's a very enjoyable experience!

Overall, it was pretty good! Regarding tipping, the guide will proactively ask if you need 10 yuan per person. There were indeed many interesting sights that we wouldn't have discovered if he hadn't mentioned them, like the eagle's nest, rare trees, and historical sites. He also sings folk songs. Hiring a guide yourself would also incur a fee, but I think it was definitely worth it.

This is my third trip here, and this time I specifically stayed overnight to see the night view. The night view is beautiful; the houses are stacked one on top of another, creating a spectacular sight. Prices in the village are also reasonable, especially the herbal pig's trotter soup—a big pot for only 58 yuan, which is a real bargain. However, the steamed mushrooms with tea oil are just so-so; don't order them.

Yuhua Cave has beautiful scenery and is worth a visit. The guided tour is well-organized, with a fixed guide at each point and two NPC activity points. However, due to the rain, we didn't have time to visit the two museums outside.

Taining Ancient City is well worth a visit. The Shangshu Di building complex is the best-preserved Ming Dynasty residential building complex in Jiangnan. It was the residence of Li Chunye, the Minister of War, Junior Guardian and Prince's Grand Tutor during the Tianqi period of the Ming Dynasty. It was listed as a national key cultural relic protection unit in 1988. Now there is also a "Ming Dynasty Wax Museum" in the "Shangshu Di".
