Medieval City of Rhodes was built in 408 BC and historically served as a military fortress for Eastern Mediterranean civilizations and along the entire Mediterranean shipping route. The ancient city features 12 gates, which are the essential entry and exit points. Each gate is adorned with a coat of arms, and the city's architectural style resembles that of French castles. Thick double walls and a wide moat continue to protect this city, which has stood the test of time.Rhodes · 38.8 km from downtown

Oia is located on the northern cape of Santorini, built along the cliffs, with white-walled, blue-domed houses and churches layered along the inner cliffs of the caldera. Sunset is the most iconic view here. Each evening, visitors follow the main path to the town's western end. The west end has two main free viewing spots: one is a seaside platform beside the castle ruins, where the remaining stone tower walls hang on the cliff edge, offering expansive views, and the other is a small square below the windmills, where several traditional windmills are silhouetted against the sunset. You can also book a cliffside restaurant in advance and dine while watching the sun sink below the horizon. The town is also worth exploring slowly during the day. Walking the cliff path through narrow white alleys, you will pass several blue-domed churches, and the three connected blue-domed churches make the classic postcard scene. A few old windmills stand at the town's northern end, another iconic view. At night, shops along the stone alleys mostly stay open late, and bars gradually become lively. If you have time, choose a seafront cave house for a night, and when you open the window you will see the sea toward the caldera.Greece · Santorini

Its clean architectural lines blend with the vast sea and sky, showcasing the pure beauty of traditional Greek architecture and conveying the island's calm and romantic atmosphere. This church is located along the cliffside path between Fira and Firostefani, right at the edge of the caldera. Beautiful renovations and completion of the restored mosaics at the Grand Masters Palace. I was very pleased to see the archeological site set up from Kos. The streets are alive again. Beautiful shops from Hand made leather coats to souveniers. Restaurant are open from basic street food to fine dining and wine tasting.

The Old Port of Rhodes seems to have frozen in time. It still retains the style of the Ottoman Empire. The pier is still in use, and there are people everywhere. The buildings are still hundreds of years old, and the blue sky and blue sea are still the same as they have been for thousands of years.

The 200-meter-long and 4-meter-wide Knights Avenue is located in the north of the ancient city of Rhodes. The whole street is high in the west and low in the east. The doors and windows on both sides of the street are arched, authentic medieval buildings. They used to be the palaces and knight inns of the leaders of the knight corps of different languages. From bottom to top, they are the garrisons of the Italian, French and Spanish corps. Walking on this avenue and closing your eyes, you can imagine the scene of the knights in the Middle Ages marching through the street in a team. At the top of the avenue is the palace of the leader of the knight corps, and opposite the bottom is a church old lady of castle. The restored vault is worth seeing. The basically empty avenue is a unique sight after the new crown.

As evening falls in Santorini, tourists have already found their vantage points, sitting or standing quietly, waiting. The once bustling paths gradually empty out, the crowds converging on the cliff edge, becoming the first fixed scene before sunset. Standing on the steps of the blue and white houses, watching the sunset transform the sky from orange-pink to golden-red, then slowly into a golden hue, the town itself seems draped in a golden veil, so beautiful it makes you forget everything. Finally, the entire sunset glow sinks into the Aegean Sea, even the surface is covered with shimmering gold, the wind carries the light scent of sea salt and olive trees, there is no noise, only the sound of the waves lapping the shore, slowing down along with the light and shadow.

If Santorini is a business card of Greece, then the blue-domed church should be the business card of Santorini, because at some point it was on the cover of National Geographic Magazine, and thus became a globally known attraction. What’s more coincidental is that this attraction is so simple and straightforward that it’s almost otherworldly. You don’t need high-level photography skills or think about angles. Just the “click” at the entrance is the undisputed best of the day.

There is also a cliff hotel view, but the view is worse than that of Oia town. There are many small shops and a strong commercial atmosphere. The roads are very narrow. If you encounter cruise ship passengers, you have to queue when walking.
