Shah Faisal Mosque Islamabad
Shah Faisal Mosque Islamabad was completed in 1986. It departs from traditional domes, using eight concrete shells to support a prayer hall shaped like a Bedouin desert tent, with a minaret standing at each of the four corners, each approx. 90 m high. The entire structure is clad in white marble. It is set against dark green mountains and faces the city. The complex consists of a prayer hall, a courtyard plaza, and corridors. The interior is paved with white marble, and the walls are decorated with mosaics and calligraphy patterns. The wall facing Makkah is adorned with blue and white calligraphic tiles, complemented by Turkish-style chandeliers, blending modern design with the charm of traditional Islamic decoration. The prayer hall can accommodate over 10,000 people, and together with the courtyard and surrounding grounds, it can accommodate hundreds of thousands of worshippers at peak times.Pakistan · Islamabad

Faisal Mosque is the mosque 🕌 in Islamabad, Pakistan. Located on the foothills of Margalla Hills in Islamabad, the mosque features a contemporary design consisting of eight sides of concrete shell and is inspired by a Bedouin tent. it has modern architecture, the beautiful Turkish-style chandeliers, and the beautiful garden outside the mosque that offers a breathtaking view of the city. 🏙️

This one, which I visited in September 2012, is located 10 kilometers near the city of Islamabad. It was founded in the 1970s when Afghan refugees exiled as a result of the Soviet invasion came here. Later, refugees in exile because of Taliban rule and the war in Afghanistan came in one after another.
