Kariya Highway Oasis

Kariya Highway Oasis, located in Kariya City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, is a comprehensive service area integrating leisure, shopping, and entertainment. Okazaki Castle

Okazaki Castle is world-famous as the place where Tokugawa Ieyasu was born. It is one of the strongholds of Ieyasu's unification of the world. There is a bronze statue of Ieyasu in the castle. It is ranked 45th among the top 100 famous cities in Japan, and it is also one of the top 100 cherry blossom spots in Japan. Therefore, if you travel to Nagoya in spring, it is a good choice to take a bus to Okazaki Castle to enjoy the flowers. You can also see the performances of the princesses of the Warring States period like Inuyama Castle every Friday, don't miss it. The main function of the present Okazaki Castle is to display and introduce the history of Mikawa Okazaki as a historical data center. The first floor is preserved in old caves, the second to fourth floors are local museums, and the fifth floor is the observation room.

Ghibli Park

Ghibli Park is themed around the animated works of Studio Ghibli. The park is located within the Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park and consists of five areas: Ghibli's Grand Warehouse, Hill of Youth, Dondoko Forest, Mononoke Village, and Valley of Witches. There are no large amusement rides here. Instead, it presents scenes and details from the animations through architecture, exhibitions, and interactive spaces. Ghibli's Grand Warehouse features work displays, play areas, and related material exhibits. Hill of Youth recreates the Earth Shop from "Whisper of the Heart" and the Cat Bureau from "The Cat Returns." Dondoko Forest is themed after "My Neighbor Totoro," where you can visit Satsuki and Mei's House. Mononoke Village is inspired by "Princess Mononoke" and features character figures and a Gohei-mochi making experience. Valley of Witches brings together buildings from works such as "Kiki's Delivery Service," "Howl's Moving Castle," and "Earwig and the Witch," including Okino's Residence, Howl's Castle, and the Witch's House, and also features shops, dining facilities, and amusement attractions. The various areas are scattered throughout the park, so you will need to walk between them when visiting.

Toyota Kaikan Museum
