Madagascar 🇲🇬 — The Island That Time ForgotMadagascar is a world of its own — a spectacular island off the southeastern coast of Africa, where ancient baobab trees tower over red earth, lemurs leap through tropical forests, and turquoise waters meet untouched beaches.Separated from mainland Africa millions of years ago, Madagascar evolved into one of Earth's most extraordinary natural wonderlands. Around 90% of its native wildlife species are found nowhere else in the world.

Don't look down on this place. Backward countries also have historical sites, although this one is a work from the colonial era. In fact, this palace existed before the colonial era. It should be a relatively simple one, and it should be made of wood. It was after the arrival of the colonists that they transformed it into a stone building in accordance with European customs, perhaps by wrapping the original wooden structure inside.

Madagascar is a world of its own — a magical island where ancient baobab trees touch the sky, lemurs leap through lush forests, and turquoise waters surround untouched tropical beaches.Separated from mainland Africa for millions of years, Madagascar evolved into one of Earth's most extraordinary natural wonders. Many of its plants and animals exist nowhere else on the planet.

Although this is a wildlife reserve, the enthusiastic guides are able to show you around and even let you handle examples of the various Malagasy fauna. This visit was at the start of a two-week trip to Madagascar, so at this early stage I needed help picking out chameleons from the forest background (after another week, spotting them became much easier!) so it was a great place to start. Other things you can see here are geckos, snakes, incredible tree frogs (like the golden mantilla, which is native to the area and was the main reason the reserve was created), and even crocodiles. There is a picnic area with tables, but you need to bring your own food and drinks: there are bathrooms, but no cafe.

Along the wall, there are three multi-layered racks with kitchen knives, oil lamps, clay plates, five stones used as stoves, and a seven-pronged barbecue rack. On the wall hang a double-edged javelin, three single-edged javelins, a saber, and three bull horns used by the king.

Lemur's Park Ring-tailed lemurs have disappeared from many parts of the world, primarily threatened by overexploitation of Madagascar's forest resources. They are currently listed as Endangered (EN) on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species (2018). Lemur's Park: 100,000 local currency for a private car, 70,000 local currency for entrance fee and guide. (Close encounters with lemurs are possible here, and there is a restaurant; in Andasibe National Park, lemurs are very far away and difficult to photograph without a 600mm telephoto lens.) Address: 29W5+7F Imerintsiatosika Transportation: 80,000-100,000 local currency for a private car round trip. Approximately 3-4 hours round trip, 1-1.5 hours for park visit. Opening Hours: 8:00-16:00 Entrance Fee: 75,000 local currency, mandatory guide + tip (no credit cards accepted)
