As the hour approaches, people walking and drinking coffee in the square will stop and pay their respects to the church - when the hour arrives, the small window at the top of the church bell tower will open and a golden trumpet sticks out , playing a piece of tune loudly, and after the end, the player will wave to the people below, so there will be whistles and applause from people in the square. The tradition of playing the trumpet is to commemorate the invasion of nomads from the Mongolian plateau in the 8th century, when an enemy soldier shot an arrow through the throat of the player at that time, and the sound stopped abruptly. To commemorate this soldier, until now, the horn sounded on the hour was abruptly terminated at that moment.

It has scenery, history, delicious food, cultural heritage, good public security, low prices, high-quality locals, and English is widely spoken. It is worth a visit.

This is Europe's largest medieval square, covering 4 hectares. It is surrounded by colorful buildings, cafes, and street performers. The Sukiennice, the cloth hall in the center of the square, was built in the 13th century and was originally a textile market and one of Europe's important trading centers. Today, it is a shopping paradise for handicrafts and amber jewelry.

The Basilica of Our Lady of Krakow, built in the 13th century on the Central Market Square of Krakow, is a Gothic-style building with two towers, one high and one low. The exquisite carvings, brightly colored wall paintings, dazzling glass windows, and the dome that looks like a starry sky are all eye-catching. Every time it is close to the hour, a large number of tourists will spontaneously gather near the Basilica of Our Lady to wait for the trumpeter in the bell tower to blow, in memory of the brave trumpeter who blew the alarm when the Mongols attacked the city in the 13th century but was shot in the throat by an arrow.
