Lovina Beach

4.2/5
223 reviews
Lovina Beach is located on the northern tip of Bali and is a favorite place for diving enthusiasts. Due to the long-term erosion of the volcanic rocks by the sea, a unique black sand beach is formed, which is also one of the quietest beaches in Bali. Going to Lovina to see dolphins is one of the must-have items. Rottweiler means "sea of honey" and was named by a chief of Singaraja. Lovina Beach is low-key and suitable for tourists who seek privacy. Its low decibel and slow rhythm are in sharp contrast to Kuta. Hundreds of dolphins live in this area of water, and at dawn, they go out to hunt in groups, forming a spectacular "Dolphin Legion" on the sea. Diving resorts For more professional diving enthusiasts, there are diving resorts that are better than other shores. You can also admire tropical fish and look for small corals in this area. For those who don't know how to dive, renting a boat to see corals in the sea at a depth of 500 to 600 meters is also a unique experience. More than ten meters deep in the sea, with coral reefs, you can feel the splendor of nature without being in the water.Indonesia · Bali

Hidden Mini Zoo Bali

7.1
4.6/5
58 reviews
Hidden Mini Zoo Bali is tucked away in the countryside of central Bali, between Ubud and Denpasar, sharing the same village as the Hidden Canyon of Beji Guwang, a well-known spot among hiking enthusiasts. This small interactive zoo, managed by a local team, focuses on hands-on experiences: with staff guidance, travelers can hold a docile python, let a fruit bat perch on their hand, and meet animals like otters, owls, lizards, palm cockatoos, and spiders during feeding sessions. Its signature high-intensity interactions set it apart from larger observation-focused zoos, making it especially suitable for families with kids who prefer shorter trips. The zoo is usually uncrowded on weekdays, with little to no wait for animal photos. It also participates in conservation efforts for endangered species like the Bali myna, offering insights into animal care and protection during the visit. After exploring, visitors can relax at the on-site restaurant or children's play area, with views of distant rice fields and Mount Agung on clear days. Note that its compact size makes it better suited for a one to two-hour family-friendly itinerary rather than a full-scale wildlife park experience. Its secluded location also calls for double-checking navigation before heading out. Following staff instructions during animal interactions and maintaining hand hygiene will ensure a safer and more enjoyable visit.Indonesia · Bali

Bali Zoo

Bali Zoo is nestled among lush gardens in central Bali, a compact mid-sized zoo with dense vegetation that can be easily explored on foot. It houses hundreds of animals across themed exhibits like "Sumatran village" and "savanna": the former gathers native Indonesian species such as Sumatran tigers, Sumatran elephants, orangutans, sun bears and binturongs, while the latter features lions, zebras and ostriches roaming open areas. Other highlights include Malayan tapirs, Malayan pangolins, and reptiles like Komodo dragons and saltwater crocodiles. Beyond viewing animals behind barriers, signature experiences include "breakfast with orangutans," where you enjoy a buffet while watching orangutans move about; "elephant mud bath," where you join Sumatran elephants in mud pools to help apply mud, rinse them and feed them; and the evening "zoo night" that combines nocturnal animal observation, Indonesian-style dinner and traditional fire dance into one itinerary. Daily activities also feature deer and lorikeet feeding interactions, along with animal behavior demonstrations.Indonesia · Bali

Kuta Beach

4.4/5

Kuta Beach is a crescent-shaped stretch of fine sand in southern Bali, often chosen by travelers as their first stop on the island due to its well-developed amenities and convenient transportation. The signature activity here is surfing: the shallow waters and gentle white waves at both ends of the bay are perfect for wading and ideal for first-time surfers, while the middle section offers stronger waves where local experts can often be seen riding the swells. Numerous surf schools along the beach provide beginner lessons, allowing first-time travelers to experience the thrill of catching their first wave with the help of an instructor. The west-facing beach makes sunset the highlight here: in the evening, the sun slowly sinks below the sea, painting the sky and sand in golden-red hues, with many people settling on the sand in advance just to witness this moment. During the day, you can wade in the sea, sunbathe, or rent a beach chair to relax in the ocean breeze. Shops along the shore display traditional Balinese handicrafts like sarongs, wood carvings, and shell jewelry, perfect for leisurely souvenir hunting. For those seeking to avoid crowds, early mornings in Kuta are relatively quiet, with the beach mostly frequented by jogging locals and early-bird surfers heading out to sea. A few reminders: there are many mobile vendors on the beach, and a polite decline will suffice; check the day's wave conditions before entering the water—beginners are advised to practice in the near-shore white waves with an instructor and avoid swimming alone into deep waters. As night falls, Kuta takes on a different vibe, with numerous restaurants, bars, and clubs nearby. Beachfront restaurants offer seafood barbecues accompanied by sea breezes and candlelight; for those who prefer less noise, there are also venues to watch traditional Balinese dance performances, providing an alternative way to spend the evening.Indonesia · Bali

This attraction is super big and super beautiful and very safe for the family and guests. 2 Thumbs up for this and I want to comeback here again and again. Everything I want to see and do is already here in one place. The water falls, the swing, the sky bike, the food, the coffee...name it and they have it. It's a lovely place for everyone.

A Truly Unforgettable Experience Visiting the Tegalalang Rice Terrace was one of the highlights of our trip to Bali. We arrived in the late afternoon, and the golden light spilling over the terraces was simply breathtaking — peaceful, serene, and impossibly beautiful. What makes this place so special is that it's entirely natural. There's nothing artificial or over-commercialized about the scenery itself; it's just lush, green, sculpted hillsides that you can wander through at your own pace. Walking along the narrow paths between the paddies, with the sounds of nature all around, was pure magic. If you're in Bali, this is an absolute must-see. Don't miss it — you'll regret it if you do.

A very popular ATV rental shop. There's a wait in the reception area; they seem to try to group you with other Asian tourists. After your number is called, you go to the side to exchange for rain boots and a helmet. The scenery is great, the instructors are friendly, and they even provide a light meal and drinks afterward. Recommended.

If you are traveling independently, this ticket is very cost-effective. After buying the ticket, the staff will add your WeChat to communicate with you, but they are from Indonesia and other places. We booked a hotel near the meeting point, which is very convenient. It takes a long time to wait for people on the way. The boat driver is very experienced and well-received. When you arrive at the meeting point in the early morning, the boat driver will find you with a paper with your name on it.

So much fun!!! After arriving at the base, signing in, putting on my helmet, and waiting about five minutes, we took off! The whole thing was recorded on video; you can also film it with your phone. Ten minutes was definitely enough; towards the end, I felt a bit glide sick and wanted to throw up.

Definitely worth going! What more could you ask for at such a cheap price? And it's easy to find a taxi; just enter "27 Surf School". The instructors are great. The theoretical lesson lasts 20-30 minutes, mainly focusing on practicing how to get on the board. Then it's one-on-one surfing practice! It's so much fun! I stood up on the board on my first try, and the success rate was surprisingly high! It was really fun! The photographer also took some great photos! Video recording is an extra charge (about 30 RMB), but you can also ask a non-surfer friend to film it for you. I initially thought surfing was difficult, but I found it's not that hard to get started. For me, taking a few surfing photos was enough. Highly recommended! Life experience +1‼️
