Qingchuan Pavilion
Qingchuan Pavilion is located on Hanyang's Tortoise Mountain and faces the Yangtze River, across the river from the Yellow Crane Tower. Qingchuan Pavilion was built in the Ming Dynasty and was named after the Tang Dynasty poet Cui Wei. The pavilion as it exists today was rebuilt in the 1980s according to historical photos. The scenic area consists of three main buildings: Qingchuan Pavilion, Wuhan Dayu's Palace, and Tiemenguan. There are also a number of other attractions such as various stone tablets and monuments, decorated archways, and cloisters, all rich in classical Chinese charm. It is very pleasant to climb up to the pavilion, feel the wind from the river, and enjoy the view of the river. Sanhe Ancient Town
Sanhe Ancient Town is situated at the southern tip of Feixi County in Hefei, where the Fengle River, Hangbu River, and Xiaonan River converge. The town derives its name from these three waterways, with the name "Sanhe" appearing as early as the Ming Dynasty and officially becoming Sanhe Town during the Qing Dynasty. In 1858, Taiping Rebellion generals Chen Yucheng and Li Xiucheng achieved a decisive victory over the Xiang Army here, historically known as the "Great Victory of Sanhe." The triumphal arch at the town entrance, Yingwang Mansion, and ancient city walls still bear witness to this turbulent period. The old bluestone-paved streets stretch along the river, lined with contiguous Huizhou-style residences featuring gray brick walls and soaring horse-head gables, blending water-town alleys with Huizhou-style markets seamlessly. Most tours begin at Sanxian Bridge in the town center. To its northwest stands the seven-story Guocui Tower, offering panoramic views of the town and displaying Huizhou artifacts like sedan chairs, inscribed tablets, carved beds, and stone carvings. Nearby, the Dafu Mansion (Sanhe Folk Museum) recreates an official residence's hall with exquisite wood carvings, including an oversized abacus over one meter long. Northeast of the bridge, Xiangu Tower is a Huizhou-style temple funded by merchants including the owner of the time-honored pastry shop "Zhonghexiang." Heading north along the east bank of Xiaonan River leads to ancient West Street, paved with bluestones and once bustling with shops—Liutongxinglongzhuang still maintains its original commercial layout. South along the west bank brings you to Quezhu Covered Bridge, named after Sanhe's ancient moniker "Quezhu," featuring a two-tiered eaves corridor with "beauty's seat" railings perfect for resting and enjoying the waterfront. The southern area around Old South Street and Wannian Street clusters notable former residences, including those of physicist Chen-Ning Yang, general Sun Liren, and Helu. During the Anti-Japanese War, young Chen-Ning Yang sheltered here with his family. Nearby, the famous "One-Person Alley" narrows to barely accommodate a single visitor, making it a popular photo spot. Further south stand Wannian Temple, Chenghuang Temple, and the historic Wannian Stage—Sanhe being the birthplace of Lu Opera, whose authentic melodies often grace the stage during festivals. Local snacks concentrate near Sanxian Bridge: freshly fried Sanhe rice dumplings with crispy shells, shrimp paste, crispy duck, and various river delicacies represent regional cuisine, while tea-flavored dried tofu makes for perfect street-side nibbling. Deng Yingchao Ancestral
The Deng Yingchao Ancestral Residence is located in Baiyun Lane, Sima Guang Middle Road, Guangshan County, Henan Province. It is the place where the father and grandfather of Comrade Deng Yingchao, former Chairperson of the CPPCC National Committee and a pioneer of the Chinese women's movement, lived. The ancestral residence covers an area of 3,000 square meters and is divided into three courtyards—east, west, and central. It faces south and consists of two rows of buildings. Tianzhu Shan
Tianzhu Mountain is located in Qianshan City in southwest Anhui Province. This scenic area is renowned for its majestic peaks, secluded caves, unique pines, and peculiar rocks, and is designated as a UNESCO Global Geopark. Tianzhu Mountain offers breathtaking beauty, thrilling adventures, and endless fun. You can hike to the summit to admire Tianzhu Peak from afar, traverse the exhilarating Qinglong Ridge, explore ancient passes and fortresses, delve into Mystery Valley, or enjoy a panoramic view of the stunning Liandan Lake. The sea of clouds at Tianzhu Mountain is also a spectacular sight. Travel tips Spring, summer and fall are the best seasons to visit Tianzhu Mountain. The attraction mainly consists of the west and east sections, with three typical routes: the small west loop, the new west route, and the grand loop. The small west loop is relatively easy and suitable for visitors with less than a day. The new west route is a classic itinerary covering the entire west section, requiring a full day. The grand loop allows you to enjoy both sections' scenery but demands good physical condition, so a two-day hike is recommended. The south gate is the main entrance to the attraction. However, after purchasing admission tickets at the visitor center, there is a mountain road leading to the south gate. Visitors can take the scenic bus to the lower station of the cableway. Currently, Tianzhu Mountain has three operating cableways: Muyanghe cableway (cableway 1), Dalongwo cableway (cableway 3), and Longtanhe cableway (cableway 4). Tour guide From the south gate, you can either hike or take the Dalongwo cableway to ascend the mountain. It is recommended to take the cableway up to avoid a less scenic section. After the cableway ride, there are two diverging paths leading to Zongguanzhai or Shenmigu (mystery valley). It's suggested to take Shenmigu, where massive rocks form various caves, then visit Feilaifeng (flying peak) and Tianzhufeng (heavenly pillar peak), before returning via Zongguanzhai for descent. This forms the west gate small loop route. Tianzhu peak stands at an elevation of approx. 1,488 m and cannot be climbed, only admired from a distance. However, it remains shrouded in clouds and mist for approx. half of the year, so spotting it depends on luck. Crossing the "Immortal crossing bridge" leads to the summit of Tianchi peak, which offers one of the best vantage points for viewing Tianzhu peak. On clear days, this spot provides expansive views and serves as an excellent location for watching sunrises, sea of clouds, and sunsets. After viewing Feilai peak and Tianzhu peak, if time permits, you can continue along the new route to admire Penglai peak, visit Baiyue platform, then pass by Writing desk - Immortal cave - Qinglong ridge - Qinglong pavilion - Lotus peak, and reach Liandan lake. If you have good stamina, you can continue descending via Huamei ridge - Yingzhen peak - Dansha pavilion - Tianzhu mountain villa route. If you have two days and are in good physical condition, you may choose to stay overnight at Tianzhu mountain villa and explore Dongguan the next day. The Qinglong ridge is a massive, narrow mountain ridge on Tianzhu mountain, offering an exhilarating walk that leads to the Wanjing platform, a viewing deck surrounded by cliffs on three sides. Standing on the platform amidst swirling clouds and mist feels like soaring through the skies. Nestled on the mountainside, the Liandan lake is another breathtaking attraction of Tianzhu mountain. The view from above is especially stunning, and you can also descend to stroll along its shores. As the saying goes, "the east route is perilous while the west route is scenic." The east route presents greater climbing challenges than the west route, featuring more steps carved directly into bare boulders with often bottomless cliffs on one side, requiring extra caution. It's particularly demanding on physical stamina (the east route sequence: Immortal peach rock - Warbler ridge - Echo platform - Thousand-zhang cliff - Great heaven gate - Magpie bridge - Mysterious valley ladder - East gate). Da Tianmen is a valley between two mountain peaks, featuring a long and steep stone staircase that ascends imposingly towards the sky, making it the most physically demanding section of the Dongguan route. The Queqiao bridge beyond Da Tianmen is even more perilous, with cliffs on one side and a sheer drop on the other. Although guarded by iron railings, extreme caution is required when crossing. Sima Guang's Former Residence: Located in the courtyard of Sima Guang Hotel on Sima Guang Middle Road, Guangshan County, Xinyang City, Henan Province, this is the birthplace of Sima Guang and the place where the story of Sima Guang smashing the jar took place. The existing courtyard of the former residence is very small, with two rooms and a group sculpture of Sima Guang smashing the jar in the courtyard, which is not worth visiting.

The Yellow Crane Tower is a must-see attraction in Wuhan, located in Wuchang District. It has several entrances, but the current site is not the original location of the tower. The main attraction is the cultural atmosphere and the beautiful poems left by the ancients. You can go up the tower by elevator, but there's a separate fee. A leisurely stroll through the area can easily take two or three hours; if you just want to see the tower and leave, it will be much faster.

There are routes suitable for those with good mobility, as well as routes suitable for seniors. After taking the cable car up the mountain, those with good mobility can visit San Die Quan (Three Cascades Spring), which has over a thousand steps and offers beautiful scenery. If you are older or have difficulty walking, you can simply visit places like Ruqin Lake and the Lushan Conference Site. A two-day itinerary is sufficient for a relaxed trip.

The exhibited artifacts were quite good; I've also been to joint exhibitions organized by museums like the Hunan Provincial Museum. The Kremlin artifacts here are well-prepared and thoughtfully designed. However, the souvenir and merchandise section was rather boring. I was thinking of buying a pendant or something, but that saved me some money.

The scenic area is filled with the fragrance of osmanthus blossoms. From the top, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Yangtze River Bridge and the Yellow Crane Tower. At the very top, watching the ships on the Yangtze and the cars and trains on the bridge, with the breeze blowing, is very pleasant, and it's not too crowded. The scenic area isn't large; a leisurely hour is about right to appreciate the scenery.
Qingchuan Pavilion and Guishan Scenic Area are directly connected by the Iron Gate Pass, which leads to the West Gate of Guishan. Climbing the mountain and enjoying the breeze and osmanthus fragrance is a wonderful experience.

You can stroll along the cobblestone paths, visit historical residences, and sample local delicacies such as rice dumplings, rice wine, and dried tea. It's not overly commercialized, making for a relaxed and enjoyable experience. Overall, it offers great value for money and is perfect for a short trip to experience the charm of a Jianghuai water town.

Compared to the crowds at Tingtao Pear Garden during holidays, Luoyan Scenic Area is much quieter. There are no tour groups bringing people here, so it's a good place to stroll around East Lake and enjoy the scenery.

Tianzhu Mountain is very beautiful. The weather was great the day we went, so it was truly stunning. It was very convenient to take the cable car up and down the mountain with our elderly relatives. The only downside is that the overall price is a bit high, but it's still worth a visit.
