Things to do in Gertse

Yamdrok Lake is a turquoise blue, like a sapphire on the Shannan Plateau. Its body winds through the mountains like a coral branch. No matter which angle you look at it, you can't see the whole picture of Yamdrok. The sunlight at different times will show extremely rich layers of blue. The lake changes with the light, evolving into ever-changing blue, like a dream.

It is a saltwater lake, which means desolate in Tibetan. But now it is not desolate at all, the land is fertile, and there are herds of cattle and sheep.

With first-class environment, picturesque scenery, high altitude and clean air, it is a must-visit place in your lifetime.

Zha Ri Nam Co is located in Coqen County, at the intersection of the northern foot of Gangdise Mountain and the southern foot of Qiangtang Plateau. It is the third largest saltwater lake in Tibet, with an altitude of 4,613 meters. It originates from the Coqen Zangbo River in Gangdise Mountain. The lake water is clear and blue, and is known as the sapphire bestowed by God on Buddha and mankind.

Living in the nearby Wenbunan Village, the scenery of Cuo is quite good. The surrounding facilities are also gradually being built up. You can come here to have fun. You can also take pictures of the stars at night. It is still okay.

This is a well-known scenic spot located in Shigatse, Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It is adjacent to National Highway 219 and is easily accessible. The scenic area features a distinctive high-altitude desert, surrounded by majestic snow-capped mountains and magnificent natural scenery. It is open to tourists free of charge.

Zabuye Chaka is a small plateau salt lake located in Renduo Township, Longger District, Zhongba County, Shigatse Prefecture, Tibet Autonomous Region. The lake surface is 4,400 meters above sea level. It seems unknown, with only a few herdsmen and prayer flags accompanying it, but it is rich in resources, and there are even open-pit mines exposed on the lakeside.

We stayed in Payang Town for one night. We could go to see the Zhongba Sand Dunes and wetlands nearby. It borders Ali, with the Himalayas to the south and the Gangdise Mountains to the north. It stretches for more than 20 kilometers and is connected to the Maquan River Wetland. It was very sunny in the afternoon, but walking on the sand dunes and flying the drone was great.
