In the hot summer, where to go to escape the heat! Compared with the surrounding area, considering the 2-year-old son and the 7-year-old son, the water century water is too cold, or considering the hot spring city! I came to the hot spring city at 1 noon, and the children played very high and were not as hot as expected. The scenery in the hot spring city is beautiful and the air is fresh. The family has been playing until 5:30. From the children's amusement park to the hot spring pool, the air under the mountain is hot and the feeling is not returning. When I went home, the eldest son reluctantly, and the younger son's chopsticks were removed! A good place to escape the summer heat, pay attention to children's cars, it is not convenient to go up and down the mountain!
Reviews: Shadows of York: Ghost Walk and Horrible History.

It was a nice walk in the city center. Our guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. His stories are animated. The walk was just right in terms of distance and duration. There were many of us in the tour but it was very organized and our guide made sure we were fully engaged. This is a really nice way to spend the evening in York. I highly recommend.

The best thing we did while in York! The tour was really funny throughout, the conductor involved everyone upstairs and down. Lots of surprises and laughs along the way. Bob on the roundabout! I'll say no more! 🤣🤣🤣 the ghost stories were brilliant and midway break was fun and informative. Cannot praise this tour high enough! I highly recommend it.

It’s a great way of exploring the city with young kids. The bus driver was very friendly.
Reviews: Chocolate Bar Making Workshop - York Cocoa Works
Guest User2024-06-26
As soon as you step into the building, the smell of chocolate hits you! The lady that led the chocolate bar making session was Anabelle. She was a great leader. She was very knowledgeable, friendly, and had a good sense of humour. To start the session, we learned where cocoa comes from and its origins. Anabelle had good knowledge of this and relayed the information with photographs. She then spoke about the manufacturing process of the chocolate on their site. During this time, we got to try a piece of white, milk, and dark chocolate. These were set out nicely on wooden slabs. Then, we got started on making our own chocolate bar. First, we selected the chocolate we wanted and broke this into small pieces. I wanted white chocolate, but this was unavailable due to the pricing of white chocolate. Anabelle explained the reason to us all as to why we were unable to choose white chocolate and said hopefully in the future, white chocolate will be an option again. We then used a hair dryer to melt the chocolate and selected what oil flavourings, if any, we wanted to add to our chocolate (raspberry, pineapple, strawberry, orange and mint. These were just some of the options). Afterwards, we were called up in pairs to select our toppings/decorations. You could choose from marshmallows, rice crispies, honeycomb, fudge, banana, raisins, ginger, sprinkles, salt, black pepper, chilli flakes and chocolate candy. Annabelle allowed us to have as many flavourings/decorations as we like. Once mixed, you pour your mixture into a mould (you can choose the design), and these are then placed in the fridge for half an hour. Finally, you can lick out the chocolate in the bowl - yummy! As said above, the chocolate must be in the fridge for half an hour. So after the session, you can wait in the cafe and enjoy a drink and some food or come back at a later time to collect. I liked that there were only 8 of us in the session. The group size was not too big, which allowed you to interact with the leader of the session and ask questions. I did not feel rushed during the chocolate making and decorating process. The session lasted an hour. I had a really enjoyable time, and it will be something I always remember. I definitely recommend this if you are a chocolate lover. Yes, it is something you could do at home, but going to a chocolate manufacturer and making the bar right there makes it different and more special.
