Taiwan is a place with a lot of character, requiring slow and in-depth exploration. I personally dislike the rushed sightseeing of group tours, so I opted for a family independent trip, which proved to be the right choice.
I only booked flights and entry permits through Ctrip. The combined flight price was cheap (compared to other platforms), and the entry permit processing was very efficient (after preparing all the required documents according to Ctrip's checklist, the result was returned within two weeks). The entry permit fee was also lower than that of typical travel agencies. Overall, this booking was quite cost-effective for families considering independent travel.
I will definitely choose Ctrip's services again next time I go to Taiwan.★

I booked this tour because it said communication was via WhatsApp. But communication was terrible! At first, he insisted on only communicating via WeChat, but even the Chinese couldn't connect my WeChat to his number. Then he finally responded via WhatsApp, but he didn't send me a clear location where I should wait for the shuttle service at 7 in the morning! He said he'd send me the license plate, but he didn't send it. I called/texted, and he didn't answer! The pickup organization was terrible, terrible, and stressful. And then on the shuttle, for the entire trip, which lasted over an hour, they were selling products! Crazy, with very loud voices so early in the morning, and that was also very stressful. The cruise itself is very nice, the 4-star ship is also very nice and clean, the food good. Then the Li River and the views around it are spectacular, it seems like you're on another planet. Keep in mind that you don't need to look for a shuttle tour in Guilin. Just look for the bus station and there's always one.Trip.com picks
