There is a service center in front of the terminal station, so if you ask in advance, you can board the MRT without any trouble! The design of the card changes from time to time, but when we were there, everyone had this cute card!

I used it from Tainan to Taoyuan. I reserved a time in advance on the official website and headed to the station. When I showed my passport and reservation number at the ticket counter, they asked if I wanted to change the time, and when I told them I was fine with leaving it as it was, they issued me a paper ticket. They spoke simple Japanese and English. The interior of the car was air-conditioned, making for a quiet and comfortable trip.


