On November 19th, my husband and I boarded the Yangtze Gold No. 2 cruise ship. On the 21st, we both started experiencing diarrhea. Due to the severity of our illness, we requested to disembark for treatment after the ship docked in Chongqing on the 22nd. The ship's crew claimed it was due to our personal health and could only send us ashore for self-treatment. The diagnosis was bacterial acute gastroenteritis. The ship's stance was: 1. All food on board was supplied by qualified suppliers. 2. There were sightseeing excursions during the cruise, and we may have bought food from street vendors. 3. Only about 10 out of more than 200 people on board showed symptoms; if it were a food problem, there should have been a large number of cases. Therefore, it was due to our personal health, and the ship was not responsible. We had to call the police. After mediation, the ship wrote a statement: the passenger fell ill on board due to personal health reasons, and the ship was not responsible, but out of humanitarian concern, they would cover the medical expenses, etc., and asked me to sign for payment. Outrageous! I immediately said: "Please take your humanitarian concern and go back to where you came from. I don't need your concern!"
