Our first day in Dali was windy and rainy. Due to Ctrip's negligence, the airport pickup was delayed, casting a shadow over our trip. I was worried the rain would completely ruin our plans for the next day, but to my surprise, it stopped after we got on the bus, instantly brightening our mood! Lao Jia first took us to Dali Old Town to eat the most authentic Ersi rice noodles (absolutely amazing!), and then patiently accompanied us to the Old Town bus station to buy bus tickets from Dali to Lijiang for the day after tomorrow. Then our day's itinerary officially began. We headed north from the Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple to Xizhou Town. The journey was filled with pleasant conversation. Old Jia, a local of Dali, had a deep understanding of the local culture and customs. He took us on a unique tour of Xizhou's various attractions, focusing on immersing us in the lives of the Bai people. We visited their homes, watched the making of local delicacies like milk fan (乳扇), and tasted the most authentic milk fan and Xizhou baba (癑癑). He also introduced us to the characteristics of Bai dwellings. The horse-drawn carriage route was meticulously designed, gradually unfolding through fields, houses, and seascapes – an experience I don't think you can get on a typical group tour. After lunch, we toured the eastern coastline. The intermittent rain and sunshine that day allowed even a photography novice like me to take some excellent photos. Old Jia also gave me guidance on photography, which I greatly benefited from. The music he chose was definitely one of the selling points – perfectly suited to the occasion and pleasant to the mood. For me, this tour felt more like the company of a friend, with absolutely no commercial atmosphere. A trip led to a new friend; what started as a hastily booked day trip to fill a gap in my itinerary turned out to be the most unforgettable memory of my Yunnan trip!

We had a great experience with Fermam as our tour guide! The Cappadocia Red Tour was well-organized, easy-paced with minimal walking, and the sights were truly breathtaking.

It was a wonderful trip and completely safe for us and our 9-year-old. It was our first time riding, so it was our first experience. It lasted two hours. The guide was also on horseback and led my daughter's horse, so he had 100% control over her. We rode through a valley, along mountain trails, and by a stream, so the landscape changed, which was interesting. The horses were calm. The guide also took some photos. The ride was pleasant, I recommend it. The tour did not include an audio guide.

The price was quite reasonable, so…😂 I didn't expect it to be a shopping tour. Getting on and off the bus was exhausting, but I wasn't angry because the atmosphere was okay, the English-speaking tour guide was alright, and there were only 6 of us on the bus. But time really affected us. We only allocated very little time to each attraction, just enough to take a quick look around and take some photos. It wasn't like the descriptions. We thought we'd have more time for the later attractions, so we rushed through the beginning. But after the pottery town, it was all pottery shops, leather goods markets, shopping malls, etc. The bus kept stopping and starting, I was exhausted! Eventually, we just didn't get off the bus anymore, which was fine, unlike in China where you're forced to shop and get treated badly. Overall, it was quite tiring. But I wasn't angry because the attractions we visited were actually quite similar, pretty much the same everywhere.
