This excursion was more than just a simple transfer from the cruise port to Hobbiton visitor center. Alan, our driver and guide, was very personable and accommodating. He has great knowledge of the area and shared his expertise with our group throughout the drive to Hobbiton and back. We drove by a few scenic areas near the cruise ship port, saw some fine beaches, and had stops at McLaren Falls and a nearby lake as well as a scenic overlook viewing the beautiful valley where Hobbiton can be found. All in all, it was a very scenic and informative drive into the beautiful North Island of New Zealand. It was nice to leave the driving to Alan!

Reviews: Tauranga: Evening Glowworm Kayak Tour

It was a wonderful evening. I would have loved to paddle through the night longer. Our guides were incredibly kind. They even waited patiently until the taxi picked us up at the end. We learned a lot about nature, heard Maori legends, and now know why fireflies glow. It was a fantastic experience to be out in this beautiful forest by kayak. Thank you!

The seating situation on the bus was sometimes inadequate. The audio system on the bus failed after a while, making it difficult to understand our guide.
