If you install an eSIM before arriving in Sri Lanka, you can connect to local signals immediately by simply changing a few settings on your smartphone after arrival. This can be completed by the time the plane lands at Colombo Airport and parks. It's much easier than a physical SIM. The instructions are sent to you via email after you apply, so anyone should be able to do it. 5G connectivity is excellent within Colombo city.★

This trip involved visiting three countries in a short period with very short stays at each location. While purchasing separate eSIMs might be cheaper, it wouldn't be possible to predict data usage in each location. So, I opted for an eSIM that works in 100 different regions, which is incredibly convenient. Although customer service advised activating it upon arrival, since it included Taiwan, I installed and activated it in Taiwan before boarding. Plus, it's calculated 24/7, which is truly fantastic.
