I took the HK Buslines VIP Sleeper from Hanoi Old Quarter to Sapa on the 3rd day of Tet. The bus departed exactly on time, be prepared for a 7.5-hour journey due to heavy holiday traffic. Despite the delays, the VIP cabins remained comfortable, making the extra time on the road much more bearable.

The price was costly but there was not shuttle service to hotel because of Tet holiday. The bus driver was all the time speaking very loudly with phone and noisy in the bus.

The train experience was very enjoyable. The double room was comfortable with its private space, the beds were clean, and the bathroom was also comfortable and clean. The only downside was the loud engine noise from the train, making it difficult to fall asleep, but overall, the experience was very enjoyable. I was even upgraded to a room on the return trip – I was so happy!


