This is an excellent walking tour. Notice I said WALKING tour. You will walk. You will encounter stairs, inclined streets and cobblestones. Prepare accordingly. Complaining because you wore flat thong sandals or you are not used to so much walking will not be helpful to the tour guide or your fellow participants. Getting back to the tour though, the guide was very knowledgeable and thorough, and took us to some amazing places in Puerto Rican history. I learned quite a bit, gained an even greater appreciation of the history and culture of the people and the area, and had some good laughs along the way. He is also considerate of everyone’s safety, making sure to point out potentially dangerous obstacles and making sure traffic stops for the entire group to cross what can be busy, narrow streets. If you plan on tipping (which he deserves), make sure you are prepared, because in our case the tour ended right next to the garage where he was parked and he hurried to his car at the end faster than I could even pull my wallet out of my pocket. I recommend this tour to anyone who would like to experience the beautiful area of Old San Juan and would like to learn and be entertained at the same time.
