We met at the Maya Walk building in San Ignacio at 6:45am then took a very nice shuttle to the border and were walked across to our guide Christian and driver Walter. They were fantastic! Because it was a very small group (just my friend and myself as it was a weekday in what they call the slow season) they asked if we had breakfast yet. We hadn’t so they said they would stop at the best along the way. They called ahead and had a table all set for us. The traditional Guatemalan breakfast was delicious (not covered by the tour but 100% worth it if they say they have time)!
We got to Tikal and Christian did an awesome job answering countless questions and explaining the history! He also gave multiple times for us to explore the different areas on our own as well and did not rush us. We left and had lunch at a beautiful spot on the way back which was very tasty! We made it back to San Ignacio around 4:15pm without a glitch. Would totally recommend this company and these guides!★

Very relaxing experience and a unique combo of forest cruise, close water fall experience with plenty of exotic swimming options.
Nadir is a great tour guide. He does it all with great care and professionalism.
We were picked from hotel on time and then had a ride to the river. The road is unpaved so ride can be bumpy as we enter dense forest.
We had the entire pontoon to ourselves, just a coincidence.
A delicious lunch was prepared on the boat as we cruise from one waterfall to another. We had lunch facing one of the most scenic clear water fall and then we went swimming in the natural infinity pools which are just chest deep and water is clear. Then he took the pontoon close to 2 other waterfalls for a very close experience. Over all a very unique family experience.★

MayaWalk Tours came highly recommended by my colleague, and I'm SO glad she told me about them! Etiardo and Richard were incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, funny, and patient tour guides! My brain *still* feels pleasantly full after everything I learned about the fascinating ancient Mayan culture and Caracol! I was fortunate enough to be on tour with one other person (there's a minimum of 2 for each tour), and we and our guides had the entirety of this ancient Mayan site to ourselves for nearly two hours.
Etiardo was full of Mayan history, etymology of words, and jokes. Richard was helping me identify all the bizarre bird calls I was hearing. We had a blast! And they put out a delicious spread of Belizean food for lunch (tablecloth and everything!). And time for a refreshing dip in the beautiful volcanic pools post-temple-climbing.
I am only sad that I didn't have time to do more tours with these two!! Thank you, Etiardo and Richard!★

Reviews: Half-Day Barton Creek Cave with Optional Zipline, Butterfly Farm Or Rock Falls

Had a wonderful day being canoed through a magnificent cave! Ended with a swim in the crystal clear water that flows into the caves. The water is filled with a variety of small to mid size fish and a saw a midsize turtle swimming close by. The Barton Creek area is so well maintained with labeled trees so you can learn about them. We were the only two people there with our guide so it was even more special. Our guide Jason was excellent. He as a great driver as we had to drive through two shallow rivers and on some rough roads that added to the adventure. He smoothly paddled us in the cave and provided information about the history and geological formations. A completely awesome day. Highly recommend Maya Walk tours for all you tour needs! We only had time for 3 tours but each one was well worth the time and cost.
