Reviews: 3-hour Tuscan Cooking Class with Wine & Oil Tasting

We were a family of 8 with 4 teenagers and this was a highlight! We all loved the cooking of class and the amazing views. We then ate our creations for dinner outside along with sampling wines, oils and balsamic. Love the family-owned atmosphere and the individualized care. Needless to say we had some of their delicious wine and oils shipped home!★

Started the day with Alessandro and Spillo (the world famous truffle hunting dog!). Learned all about how truffles grow and how the dogs are trained to find them. Then off we went to follow Spillo as he raced through the woods and found multiple truffles. A fascinating experience….highly recommend!
After the hunting was over, we returned to the main building and were greeted by Chef Dante. What a joy! He was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We chatted and laughed during the whole time we were learning classic Italian cooking methods. He taught us knife skills, showed us how to deglaze a pan, and many other techniques…but mostly how to have fun with cooking and not be afraid to try new things. To be perfectly honest, I had never had a truffle before today and I wasn’t looking forward to trying them. Was I wrong! Using the truffles we had found earlier, we made dishes that infused them in each one. First, we made tiramisu with ladyfingers quickly dipped in a sweet wine and truffles included in the layering process. (Sounds unusual but was really delicious!). Next, we made a sauce with tomatoes, zucchini, and sausage and pork tenderloin with a natural forming gravy. Finally, the pasta! I still can’t believe that I made fresh pasta! And again, every dish had some truffles added to it. Everything was so fresh and delicious! Again, I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed working with Dante and you can’t go wrong by having him as your chef!
Once we finished the cooking class, we cleaned up and were shown to a dining area to eat the dishes we made and taste many wines. We were quite impressed with our cooking skills (LOL) and thoroughly enjoyed each bite.

After looking into a cooking class for the family we decided to go with this one. We enjoy cooking and the flexibility of an advanced class made this ideal. Fulvio was excellent - he showed us clearly each step in the preparation then let us do the cooking. It was a perfect balance of information and practical food preparation then we ate what we made together as a family.★

Alice was fantastic and so knowledgable on cooking authentic Italian cuisine! She gave us allll the secrets to what makes it so good and you can clearly tell she loves what she does. Her passion for cooking and food shines through! The instructions and following along method for each dish was great as she walked us through and assisted when needed. We would do it again! We had an amazing day visiting Siena, San Gimignano, and Pisa — a truly unforgettable journey through Tuscany! Our guide, Manuel, made the experience exceptional. His deep knowledge of the region’s history and culture, along with his clear passion for what he does, brought every place to life.
The trip was very well planned — everything ran smoothly and on time, with just the right amount of free time in each city to explore, relax, or enjoy a coffee. Manuel also suggested great spots to visit in each place, which really helped us make the most of our time.
The bus was spotless, comfortable, with air conditioning and large windows — even smelled nice!
Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Tuscany — and if you get Manuel as your guide, consider yourself lucky!★

Planning provided for sufficient time at each stop especially San Gimignano and Siena. Excellent lunch at a Monteriggioni winery. Guides Ricardo and Bella very knowledgeable and helpful with clear instruction, and driver Massimo very competent in his driving ability. It was a long day but a very enjoyable tour.
