In the sweltering summer heat, I was torn about where to escape the heat! Comparing nearby options, and considering my 2-year-old and 7-year-old sons, the water at Water Century was too cold, so I decided on the Hot Spring Resort! We arrived at the Hot Spring Resort at 1 pm, and the kids had a blast. It wasn't as hot as I'd imagined. The resort was beautiful, with fresh air, and the whole family played until 5:30 pm, exploring everything from the children's playground to the hot spring pools. The oppressive heat of the foothills was completely gone. When it was time to go home, my older son was reluctant to leave, while my younger son's heat rash had completely disappeared! It's a great place to escape the heat, but be careful if you have a stroller—it's inconvenient to push them up and down the mountain!

OMG I loved every second of this trip, our driver/tour guide was beyond fantastic, we stopped everywhere during the journey from York to Whitby, he showed us some really beautiful places, we could take pictures and he explained everything really well along the way, we were so blessed with him!! His name is Trevor, I would do this trip with him over and over again, as he is very knowledgeable and it’s was such a joy to listen to him (he loves talking!!!) 😀 Yorkshire is breathtakingly beautiful and I do photography, basically I didn’t eat during the day because I couldn’t put my camera down!! Especially when we arrived in Whitby, there was so much to see!! I sadly missed out on the fish and chips due to the time - I choosed to take pictures as I’ve never seen a place like Whitby, the Abbey, the church, the graveyard and then the town all at once from the top of the stairs, a place out of this world! A HUGE THANK YOU to Trevor, please praise him, he is the best guide I’ve ever had
