A fantastic experience! Both attractions are well worth visiting. Those who enjoy history and culture shouldn't miss Boyana Cathedral; it's small, but the frescoes inside are fascinating (one depicts the Last Supper, predating Leonardo da Vinci's version, with a completely different composition). Our guide, Martin, was incredibly kind and his explanations were very entertaining, like listening to a stand-up comedy routine—he really knew how to keep everyone engaged. Also, if you buy bread outside the Rila Monastery, there are three types. The best is the Traditional (middle denomination, 1 local currency). The other two are enormous, weighing a pound (750 grams)! The day before the trip, you'll receive an email with the meeting time and guide's name; arriving 10 minutes early is usually sufficient.

The tour started on time and was very fulfilling. We were also lucky enough to enter Boyana Church. I had booked an English audio guide for the tour, but the guide explained everything so well that I didn't need to use it and was able to fully enjoy the experience. We arrived back in Sofia around 6 PM.

Overall, it was a good trip. However, Trip.com mentioned it was a day trip to Rila Monastery and Boyana Cathedral, but when we arrived at the meeting point, the local guide told us it was only Rila Monastery. Nevertheless, the overall experience was still worthwhile.

The monastery was very beautiful and the 7 Rila lakes was amazing as well the walk is about 2-3 hours and very beautiful. The guide made a good atmosphere in the car and the people were also very nice
