Our tour, From the Concrete Jungle to the Actual Jungle, was the perfect introduction to Puerto Rico, blending history, culture, and breathtaking natural beauty. Angel, our guide, made the experience unforgettable with his deep knowledge, engaging storytelling, and genuine passion for his home. We started in the newer part of San Juan, where we gained insight into Puerto Rico’s government and what it means to be a U.S. territory. Walking past government buildings and monuments to U.S. presidents, we had a fascinating discussion about the island’s political and economic landscape. From there, we explored the charm of Old San Juan, admiring its vibrant architecture, historic streets, and even a stunning cemetery with ocean views. The adventure continued as we left the city behind to experience Puerto Rico’s natural beauty. Visiting a cave and the rainforest was an awe-inspiring contrast to the urban landscapes, giving us a true appreciation for the island’s diversity. Along the way, we enjoyed incredible local food, experiencing flavors that were both authentic and delicious. What made this tour truly special was Angel. His warmth, knowledge, and ability to connect with us on a personal level made the experience feel like an insider’s look at Puerto Rico. From discussions on history, politics, and business to sharing stories about daily life, we left feeling not just like visitors, but like we had gained a deeper understanding of the island and its people. Puerto Rico’s beauty speaks for itself, with its stunning landscapes and perfect year-round weather. But what made this tour exceptional was the spirit and passion of Angel, Nala, and the welcoming locals we met along the way. I can’t recommend this experience enough—this was more than just a tour; it was a journey into the heart of Puerto Rico.

This was the best tour I have ever taken, and a large part of it is thanks to our tour guide, Enrique. He was amazing! We started the day getting coffee/hot chocolate and then moved on to the Tanama waterfall. Usually, the tour goes to multiple ones, but due to the tropical storms/hurricanes, the others weren't safe. We then went to visit the caves at Caribe Adventures, Puerto Rico. They were beautiful. The large window was the highlight of the tour. The cave guides were terrific. Next, we went to lunch and enjoyed some very yummy Puerto Rican food. Our next stop was at the Arecibo Pool beach. This was the most fun I have ever had in the water. The rocks and waves created a giant wave pool. It's a small area, but it didn't feel crowded. Enrique provided a changing area for us to change out of our swimsuits. The final stop was to the Reserve Natural Cueva del Indio. It's a gorgeous beach that has been used in several movies. We hiked to the Cueva del Indio and were treated to spectacular sights. Enrique made the whole tour enjoyable, personable, and very fun. I loved the way he let us choose different music styles and got us interacting with each other. I've never had a tour guide so invested in finding ways to keep us entertained during the entire tour. This was a long 11-hour tour, but it was worth it. He was very knowledgeable about all the areas that we visited. He gave us incredible history and geographical lessons. He had patience with all of us, interacted well with each group, and refused to take a tip. So, if anyone can give me info on how to get him some money, it would be appreciated! He bought my daughter's Subway sandwich (she is not adventurous with food) even though she had money for it. He bought all of us our coffee/hot chocolate that morning. I would take another tour with him and recommend him to everyone. Thank you Enrique! Especially for your patience with my inability to be on time! You deserve a huge raise and employee of the year!

We really enjoyed the tour with our guide, Francisco, whose knowledge and humour made for great edutainment. Francisco tells a great story of how the rainforest gets its name. Highly recommend. The views were incredible, especially from the Yokahu Tower. The recently re-established information centre is fantastic in keeping with the natural environment. Visting the local bakery was a lovely ending to the trip.


