It was truly a great experience. The guide and the tour company were very friendly. Our guide, Cristian, was very experienced with the route and knowledgeable about everything we asked him. The hike is beautiful, but it's very physically demanding and also risky. We did it when there was a lot of snow, which helped, but if it's ice, it's more difficult because it's harder to get a grip. The views are stunning, and you can see everything, and reaching the top is very rewarding. It takes about 5-6 hours to go up; going down by sliding is fun and fast.

If you're hiking Volcán Villarrica, book with this company. Our guides Felipe, Cristian, and JR were incredible. We booked the night before, and everything was ready when we arrived. Our group got an early start and was one of the first at the trailhead. There’s a ski lift option, but we didn’t have cash. The sunrise was incredible, and the hike was so beautiful we didn’t need it. The guides set a great pace and let the group naturally split into two. The hike is tough with 1,570m (5,150 ft) of elevation gain, so bring extra snacks and water. They helped us with crampons and ice axes, teaching us to self-arrest. Reaching the summit alone was magical, and we even got there before most groups who took the lift. The way down was the highlight of my life. Sliding down the glacier was insanely fun and made the descent so easy. At the bottom, the guides had pisco sours, beer, fruit, juice, and snacks waiting. Pack layers, sunscreen, and good sunglasses, and go with Felipe, Cristian, and JR!
