This camp stands as a perpetual reminder of how cruel a government can be. I’m sure that when the Nazis took it over they did not anticipate it would one day become a monument to their own inhumanity. Our tour guide was visibly angry at the way camp victims were treated and ultimately executed or died of terrible disease and starvation. It is not to be missed by anyone with a conscience and not to be forgotten. Plan to spend the whole day. You will not be in the mood to do anything else afterward.

Have change for bathroom and bring your own drinks and snacks if you think you will need them because not much option for that. Great tour packed with so much information.

Went for a wander with Dylan around the castle and surrounding area. It started with a walk across a bridge and a tram trip (ticket not included) to the top. We then walked to the monastery where something (I'll leave it to you to find out) was invented. After which we strolled down through historic streets, stopping at a beautiful view point (where photographer/guide Dylan might take a photo of you and your companions), and finally arriving at the castle complex which Dylan times perfectly for the changing of the guard. Dylan, clearly passionate about Czech history, Hapsburgs, and things being thrown 😉, took us on an engaging exploration back through time. Would highly recommend. 10/10 stars Dylan. Loved the binder 👍
