What an awesome day we had in the Rhodope Mountains! Our guide Ivo was friendly, helpful and so very knowledgeable about the mountains and the history of Bulgaria and the whole Balkans region. The Wonderful Bridges are so much more impressive in real life than in photos, and we thoroughly enjoyed wandering alongside the river, walking the streets of Kosovo and into some of the buildings at the monastery, all the while with Ivo making the history come alive! As for lunch, we had the best bob (bean stew) and makitsa!!★
