I tried to explore Ottawa in a day. Had a good trip into downtown, Capitol Hill, Ottawa river cruise and saw most of the important landmarks. It is worth roaming through a floating bus (land and water) which is an interesting experience.

The guide was excellent, engaged, funny and knowledgeable. We marvel at her enthusiasm after the hundreds of times she has guided this tour. The 7:00 tour in mid October was perfect timing-so much spookier in the dark!

Richard was pleasant, knowledgeable, humorous and imparted a real appreciation for Kingston. The trolley ride was about 75 mins which was just right to capture everyone’s attention. I would definitely recommend the Highlights Tour. My only suggestion is that it would be better to get the tickets for the tour upon online application instead of vouchers that, have to be replaced before going on the tour. It is not an efficient use of time for the visitor. Additionally literature sent to the visitor gives confusing info regarding meeting location.

A very beautiful and educational museum that allows you to learn more about Canadian history, but also about our own history. The section on the early wars with Indigenous peoples and the major battles of World War I, in which Canadians played a significant role, is particularly interesting. There's also a nice shop and a small café with good hamburgers, as we say here 😁


