Thoroughly enjoyed our evening kayak trip with Cian. He was fun, knowledgeable and told us Māori creation stories in a magical glowworm cave. The hot pools were really lovely and dinner was delicious. The weather gods were kind and we had the moon and stars reflecting off the glassy lake on the way home. Can totally recommend 😊

We loved the walk along the river and the arrival of the warriors in the canoes. The performers were wonderful too - colourful, skillful, with beautiful voices.

It wasn’t actually a ‘tour’ we walked around ourselves! It was lovely! Shame it rained half way through though 😏
Reviews: Rotorua: Wai-O-Tapu Geothermal Park Entry Ticket

The park is beautiful, and best visited very early in the morning as soon as it opens, but they didn't explain to us that the geyser was outside and we had to drive there. The geyser was disappointing; with all the dust, they overestimate it, and it's not spontaneous. I was disappointed. Luckily, the park is very beautiful, but as soon as it fills up with people, the magic is ruined.

Wowzer a not to miss! I have been to many national parks and nature preserves and this has to be up there in the top ten! A beautiful self-guided walk through the geothermal valley, surrounded by hotsprings, very cool vegetation and birds and all at your own pace, we took about three hours, you could do it in less or take the better part of the day. Absolutely stunning views and lots of birds to watch. We also took the boat trip at the end it was great and a better chance to see more geysers. Plus added benefit the Cap'n was great and had spent time piloting in Alaska waters so we had a good chat about that too. The walk is also easy for kids and even better when you are done there are buses that bring you back to the top/carpark so even good for us older folks and people with kids. :)
