A wonderful experience. The bus was comfortable (compared to other operators). Val was friendly, and even though I didn't understand everything (because I'm French), listening to her talk about the stars and constellations was fascinating. We didn't have fresh snow, but it was still cold (-5°C). Jackets, gloves, snacks, and hot drinks were provided. It was magical. I highly recommend this activity.

Although I was worried about the weather, I was able to enjoy the sunset above the clouds from the summit and the starry sky from a little way down. The guide was very attentive and polite. However, although he said he would speak slowly, his English was too fast and I couldn't fully communicate, which was disappointing. I also felt it was important to study basic constellations before participating.

Our guide, Tory was amazing. Besides being so sweet, she was extremely knowledgable on Hawaiian culture, agriculture and volcanology. She made sure we were comfortable and she knew exactly where to take us to see the volcano which was erupting while we were there. I loved the fact that on this tour, you were able to see the island and volcano during the day and at night.

Our trip to Mauna Kea Summit was amazing! We were VERY fortunate to have perfect weather (clear skies) for a beautiful sunset and excellent, picturesque stargazing! Jess and Rob were our tour guides and they were fabulous! They provided lots of wonderful, historical information on the volcanos, observatories and the stars! They were GREAT! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone!


