Reviews: Marrakech: Agafay Desert Dinner, Camel Ride & Quad Biking.
Guest User2026-01-19
Superb 5-6 hour desert excursion. Departure around 3 pm and return around 9/9:30 pm. We started with a camel ride of about 15 minutes (someone takes photos of you at the same time!). Then we enjoyed tea and pastries in a magnificent setting. Next stop, a stop at an olive oil cooperative. Once there, we went quad biking (quite sporty, but fantastic!) for almost 1 hour and 10 minutes. This was followed by a delicious and generous meal with music, and finally, a magnificent fire show. The organization by Yassin was top-notch! We were 15 minutes from Marrakech, and they picked us up for free without any problems. Everything was explained and meticulously organized throughout the day. I highly recommend it; for the price we paid for two people, it was fantastic!
Reviews: Agadir Jeep safari 4x4 Desert Adventures with Lunch

We were picked up from the hotel on time by Mohamed our driver/guide in a 4x4 with four seats plus the driver, and two small foldaway seats in the third row. We joined another couple who had been picked up first. We did not really know what to expect next as Mohamed did not inform us, but soon we arrived at another hotel, where two other people were waiting for us. A six foot tall man and a lady with impaired mobility. They stated that they would not be able to occupy the fold away seats. Indeed the other four passengers were all in a similar position. After a few phone calls, an alternative vehicle was found for the third couple. Mohamed then drove south, out of Agadir, stopping on a concrete road bridge to see a flock of flamingos some 300 meters away. We left the main roads for country lanes for a few miles, before taking to the sand tracks, which were quite firm after the downpour two days earlier. -The first such rainfall for seven years apparently! After driving between hundreds of argon trees and encountering quite a few quad bike and dune buggy groups. Subsequently we passed polly- tent after polly-tent as huge quantities of vegetables and tomatoes are grown in this area. We headed over to a local pottery to see one of their workers hand crafting small pots, to walk though their huge stock room and out into their sales room to meet their jovial owner (I believe) on the till. Then off to where the sand and scrub meets the sea cliffs. We met, per chance, a group of Berber camel owners and were offered a photo opportunity and a chance to ride one of the traditionally adorned beasts. We then drove past a military barracks, a platoon of soldiers under training marching towards us, a firing range and a number of observation posts watching for small boat loads of economic migrants heading for the Canary Islands. We saw none. A short distance south we stopped to see some 'cliff cave' dwellings created by fishermen who made their living from rod and line fishing from the rocks below. Then past a nature reserve, before stopping for lunch at a Berber village/farmstead. The tagine chicken and cuscus had been slow cooked for us by the farm ladies and went down well as did the tiny bottled drinks of soda (at a very reasonable additional cost.) After lunch we headed further south still to a hill hop vantage point to view the huge Youssef Ibn Reservoir for photographs. On the way back to Agadir we stopped at a tourist shop, selling argan oil and other items enjoyed by tourists. We thoroughly enjoyed this full day 4x4 excursion. Be aware however that it does not take in the rolling sand dunes of the Sahara desert, just those cliff top dunes south of Agadir. We felt that the picture on ***, advertising the excursion was a little misleading.

I booked four SIM cards for the whole family. Having internet in Morocco was incredibly convenient thanks to the QR codes. The only downside is that it's 4G, but that's more than enough for traveling.
