I decided to come solo to Antelope Canyon on a weekend trip, driving nine hours from Southern California, and I was lucky enough to be paired with Eder as my tour guide. I’ll be honest. I was a little hesitant at first because doing a guided tour solo can sometimes feel awkward. That feeling disappeared almost immediately. Eder was absolutely incredible. Extremely knowledgeable, very personable, and most importantly, genuine. It never felt like he was reciting a script or just doing his job. It felt like being shown the canyon by someone who truly loves it and understands it deeply. Eder has a way of making you feel comfortable and engaged right away. He’s a really fun guy to be around, and you can tell he takes pride in what he does. If you have the option to request a guide, I highly recommend asking for Eder specifically. I was also joined by a couple on the tour, Joan and Tod from Iowa, and the three of us had an amazing experience together. We saw an incredible range of colors throughout the canyon, and what really stood out was how Eder brought the place to life. He showed us photos and videos of the canyon during flash floods and heavy rain, which gave us a whole new appreciation for the power and history of the landscape. One moment I’ll never forget was when Eder played his flute inside the canyon. It was genuinely one of the most beautiful and surreal experiences I’ve ever had. It felt cinematic, almost unreal, like something straight out of a movie. The sound, the space, the atmosphere. It was unforgettable. This was a truly special tour, and Eder is a big reason why. If you can request him, do it. I wish him nothing but success and the best in all his future endeavors.
