Reviews: Guided tour: Timanfaya National Park and La Geria with pick-up

We wanted to book a South Island tour with our tour operator, Jet2, but they never responded to our call!! Now we are glad they didn't! This tour was great. Very informative, the guide was friendly and funny and her English was great.
We started at the camel rides, and although my husband and I didn't want a ride, it was an interesting stop. There was a small museum, toilet and gift shop, and we were there for around 20 minutes.
Next, we headed to the Timfanaya National Park. Here, we went to the summit where we saw the geothermic experiments and had time to look around the gift shop, get a drink, use the toilets, and take some great photos! After this, our coach driver took us carefully around the national park, and we learned all about the eruptions on Lanzarote. I loved this part and got some more great photos. If you don't like heights, I'd recommend sitting on the left/ drivers side of the bus, as most of the "drops" are on the right!!
We had a short stop in a village that was miraculously missed by the lava flow, here we could buy a drink or some lunch. It was a very pretty spot to stop. Then, lastly, it was on to the vineyards at La Geria. Don't be expecting a full wine tasting. You get to taste one, which was delicious.
But, this is where the difference in tours lies. As I said at the beginning, we were trying to book the tour through Jet2, but it was twice the price of this tour!!!! Maybe you get a longer wine tasting on the more expensive tours, but we found this to be perfect for us! The time in each stop was long enough to get some great photos, the guide was brilliant and full of knowledge, and we were out for around 5 hours, which I think is great value.
I would definitely recommend this tour.

A fabulous experience. We had a small group of 5 and our guide, Amanda, was very informative and attentive. The walk is not too difficult and doesn’t need any special equipment, if you can easily manage a 3 mile walk across fields and a couple of gentle hills you’ll be fine. Be prepared to get dusty and sand in your shoes though.
We did it as a self-organised excursion on a cruise ship stop in s/c de la Palma. Very easy to get the 300 bus from right outside the port to El Paso - €1.35 each way and it takes about 40 minutes. Much better than any cruise ship tour!

Enthusiastic host Nicolas who talks about the geology and climate of the island and their consequences for the wine and its taste. Original walk on an old volcanic crater, tasting glass in hand!

Reviews: Private excursion in Lanzarote, minibus and guide available

We were looking for a shore excursion that hit two big attractions in Lanzarote: Timanfaya and Jameos del Agua, and were unable to find something that worked with our time in port. Booking a private excursion was a great option, especially when were able to find two other couples to share the cost. Our guide and driver were both locals and you could tell how much they loved sharing their island with us. Pickup and dropoff at the port were so easy and I appreciated the communication by email before the trip. When our cruise swapped port days at the last minute, the company was willing and able to adapt which was hugely appreciated. Overall, highly highly recommend!

La Gomera, what a beautiful place.
The ferry crossing from Los Cristianos was about 45 minutes. Plenty of food and drink available on the ferry and plenty of seating too.
After leaving the ferry we had some time to spend in San Sebastián. Some beautiful buildings and plenty of history.
Then it was a tour around the island, lots of winding roads with some scary moments but fantastic, breathtaking views so well worth it.
Lunch was included in the price (3 courses) and very nice too. When the meal was finished we were treated to a demonstration of the Silbo Canario, an ancient whistling language which is still taught in the schools on La Gomera, it really was amazing to hear.
Would definitely visit Gomera again.

The park is small but beautiful, I took the VIP tickets with cat.
Audioguides are included, as well as an insensitive experience with glasses.
The beautiful cat, the area cheese, lunch and fruit cultivated in the park.
More than recommended.
Excellent quality-price.
