At Telaga Port, you fill out an entry permit for Thailand. They'll help you if you need help, but you'll need more time. Disembarkation isn't from the ferry, but from a boat on a floating plastic dock. Returning, you'll need to fill out the MDAK again in advance for entry into Malaysia. There are no paper cards, everything is electronic. The ferry seems to have less seas at the stern than at the bow. Bring metoclopramide or Dramamine if you need help. There's a 200 baht entry fee because it's in the Thai National Park. Otherwise, the island is pretty, and the ferry is comfortable—an hour and a half there and back.
