I'm very grateful to Ctrip for making it so convenient to buy international train tickets. I printed out the QR code and brought it with me. I redeemed my ticket at the white machine at the JR entrance of Terminal 1 at Kansai Airport. The machine has a Chinese language option. After redeeming my ticket, I entered the station through the manual channel and took the escalator down one level to Platform 3, which is where the Hello Kitty shuttle bus is located.

Good and eaay to the signal is mostly, 95% of the time, stable. The food thing is that then it requires no roaming at all since it is a local e-sim.
